Just seen this on Durham Council facebook page:
Getting to and from a County Durham retail park will soon be easier than ever, thanks to a range of transport improvements. ?️
The North East Mayoral Strategic Authority has provided £3.2m, via the council, for the delivery of the Dalton Park Transport Hub and Active Travel scheme.
The project, delivered by Dalton Park Outlet & Outdoors, will see reduced journey times, ease congestion and create a smoother, more enjoyable experience for visitors once delivered.
This will be through:
▪️ A new road layout and road widening, meaning buses will be able to travel through the site instead of turning at one end as they currently do.
▪️ The creation of new lanes, which will ease congestion and improve bus journey times.
▪️ Increasing the eastbound bus stop in size to accommodate three buses
▪️ Two new stops to the south west, reducing travel distances for passengers and improving accessibility.
Meanwhile all bus stops will benefit from:
? New shelters
? New seating
? Real time passenger information displays
? Lighting improvements
? CCTV systems linked to Dalton Park’s 24/7 surveillance system and providing coverage of all waiting areas

RE: Dalton Park improvements
Desperately needed. We visited a few months ago and it took us over half an hour to escape again. The buses were stuck in the same traffic (though didn’t have to fight their way out of a car park like we did).
RE: Dalton Park improvements
Whoever designed Dalton Park turning circle for buses seriously needed to be chucked of the team at that point. Ive seen some bad bus areas but Dalton Park took the cake. Its way to tight and anymore than 2 buses there and you block the road. God forbid one broke down
