Will the routes in the North East that are turning "Sapphire" this year all go Sapphire at the same time or will the introduction of sapphire onto the routes be staged, depending on when the vehicles arrive?

Thanks Richard. Handy to run a duplex copy off and stick in the back pocket!

Not at the moment I'm afraid, I may get around to it at some point. It is trying to get the Fleet List & Photos on to a Single Sheet of A4 (Double Sided of Course).

The Stockton and Redcar ones do look brilliant like

The Solo's in Redcar/Whitby's fleet list state they have solo M950 chassis BUT plaxton prestige body work... That would be some strange combination if true haha

They will all be launched at different times, with the X21/X22 being the first to be launched in the North East, probably early August. The 5/5A and the X3/X4 will then follow in September. There is a specialist team working on Sapphire, with (I am told) 11 launches to be done in 14 weeks, across the country at different divisions.

On the subject of new buses do you think any more gas buses will ever be ordered by arriva for the North East

I would say "never say never" but I can't see it happening any time soon. The depot with the infrastructure in place is Darlington, and there isn't any other routes where they could really be used (beyond those already going Max). I'm not sure they would want to invest this into another depot with the problems that Darlington found when introducing them.

Would you say that there will be a lack of hybrids in the future as well?
Nice one with the fleet lists Richard.
So the gas buses at Darlington are turning out to be s mistake? You'd have thought that Arriva might have kinda worked out that the infrastructure thing might well be an issue.

I'd expect hybrids to pick up in a few years time, once the technology has been improved upon and settled down.

I don't think they were a mistake but it took months to get the infrastructure in place for them, but of course a lot of this was external work with Northern Gas Networks for example, and it'll have to go through numerous funding stages with them etc before any works take place. A perfect example of how to introduce something without the necessary background infrastructure in place... But we battled through and got there in the end.

Would you be able to install sockets on the hybrids or would this take up too much of the battery (Just for the Sapphire services)
Yep I can live with that Scott, maybe "mistake" was the wrong word? Talking of battling through and getting there how about Redcar having all 6 B7's allocated to the X93 and staying in service for a full days service ! Now that's a bit of an ask, isn't it? Lol!

Sure is. Wrong tools for the job which I have argued all along, but that's what Redcar have been given so that's what we have to work with. Not sure what will be allocated to the 2 single deck diagrams yet but likely be Temsas.
The mind boggles! My a**e still aches after riding 4718 home last evening and I only did MBS to Guisborough. Thankfully, as I said, I don't care for the seaside!

Could be worse, I had 4720 from Boro to Scarborough!
To Peter - have tried to send you s PM - and the others, sorry for carping on about the X93. This probably sounds strange but I have got the services best interests at heart and do fully understand that, in this revenue driven world the operator can only do what they can within such constraints; the present arrangements for the concessionary travel scheme and lack of any external funding don't help but lets wish everyone so connected with the service well for a successful peak season.
Peter does say in his PM that writing to Arriva senior management would be a good move but personally I don't think s single response would carry much way and nor would any negative, I guess Arriva have heard all that by now and sniping away as some do without understanding the bigger picture just doesn't work. To this end I would encourage any members who have any to say, positive or negative, to send me a PM; alternatively maybe there is scope to set up a specific thread someplace where we might just discuss things?
Just throwing it open to you guys and again my apologies Lets all have a good day now.
Just interested here guys re allocation of vehicles? Obviously we have certain types allocated to certain duties and then there is the issue of space at the depot and how the vehicles come off shift of an evening. I just wondered, given what was been said about 1923 / 4 if certain are kept back until everything is covered? Might sound like a daft question but given the seeming disquiet about these 2 vehicles it got me thinking in the same way as what was said a bit ago about certain buses not been allocated to hilly runs? I know when the Cadets did the 5's there were problems when they got to the Loftus area.

Cant remember it ever being mentioned, but the 168 is now showing on the Arriva website.
I'm assuming from what Jimmi has posted that we now have a Moorsbus service operational again (from July) ? Do we have any details whether it is Arriva running it as a commercial venture or have the NYMP come up with funding for it?

This news article has all of the known details on the return of Moorsbus.

It's not just you! robisdave and others are also culprits of the X93 bashing and it does get very repetitive and boring. Although it is nice that people like to share their opinions, the vast majority of people cannot do anything about it so I suggest one option would be to set up a thread specifically for service X93 where people can winge and moan about it all day long!!!
i know this got nothing to do with site but does anyone know how i can get arriva livery's for the omnibus simulator
thank you jmoss

On the search section towards the top of the page, type in 'Arriva'. If you do the same for Stagecoach too, you'll find all the Stagecoach repaints as well - just to save you making another post!
I didn't particularly want to whinge and moan but alas am guilty so. I've said that I understand many of the "police's and issues behind the operation of this service and would like to encourage others to come forward and share their thought, views and experiences. This can be done through the PM system or if anyone can give me the heads up, I'll set up a separate thread. If I get enough feedback etc then maybe I'll put it all together and take it to Arriva management? See where we go.

Feel free to make another thread in the off-topic bus chat section of the forum.
That section is moderated a little less - so perhaps more appropriate to let people release steam re: X93!
