Am suspecting I'm wrong somewhere here? Either that or it's a challenging task down at Boathouse Lane meeting the PVR / allocating vehicles? Over to you guys, am sure Scott will fill in the blanks?

31 Pulsars, 21 Cadets/Centro (1918/9/21 went to Arriva Scotland West years ago) and 14 Prestiges.
Still appears tight to meet the weekday PVR?

76 vehicles for a weekday PVR of 67, we usually manage fine.

76 vehicles to meet a PVR of 67 (62 full size and 5 Mini)? More than enough, apart from Cadet wise (where the PVR requirement for Cadets Mon-Fri is 20 from 21 vehicles).
Thanks people, think it's my maths and knowledge of the Stockton fleet that's at fault here? I could only recall 22 Pulsars for example? 1450 through 60, 1484 to 92, 1494 and 1512? Help me out please guys.

Nice buses and all that, better than the E400's but still poor on the climbs. Came out of 'Boro on 7486 and despite a run at Ormesby Bank it was flat to the boards way before the top! Some of the gradients along the route are 20-25% gradients (similar to Saltburn Bank), with cars managing to struggle on them. I don't think vehicle choice matters... nothing is going to do any kind of speed on the hills the X93 offers.
It's a fact and difficult to allow for this on the running times but seems to the only way it can be resolved. I spoke to Whitby based drivers last year who told me it was taking 7 and 8 minutes to haul up out of Robin Hoods Bay in both directions on an already tightly timed schedule meaning they were then having to cane the vehicles to try and catch up. I think this year the timings are a little more relaxed and the B7's do seem to be more able performers overall? Just have to wait and see how we get on.
On the latest fleet update today their are buses classed as 'hot spares'.What is the meaning of this term?
Does it relate to the engine performance....
Like it but kinda suspect it means vehicles that they can actually use as spares; get to run, fit for service, that sort of thing? I'm sure the boys will let us know?

A question - probably for Scott ? Last year Arriva operated the 'Dalesbus' service from Darlington through Hawes to Ingeton? I'm assuming it was done from Faverdale and must have been an EU type of working? This year it has been extended to operate out of Middlesbrough so my question has to be, will it be operated by Stockton and if so, what with? Again I'm just assuming here by I think it was operated using a Faverdale based Solo which is ideal and possibily the only type of vehicle that could cope, properly, with some of the road; Buttertubs Pass from Swaledale into Wensleydale comes to mind?

It is still going to be operated with a Darlington 2011 Solo, just starts from Middlesbrough instead this year.

Darlington will still operate the dalesbus service X59 as far as i know...

The 826/830/831/866/881 are worked by Darlington depot on Domestic hours as they are split routes like most Dalesbus routes. It's one of four (to an extent five) workings Arriva do on Dalesbus, with Yorkshire operating 3 (including one that extends up into NE terriority from the end of June). The technical fifth working is the 800 from Leeds worked by Yorkshire Tiger.

Of course X59 is a weekday single journey & Dalesbus is sunday & Bank holiday service only...what are the loadings like on these routes?
If a solo is need i guess Darlo will still operate as its only 1 day allocation per week!

I'm not sure of loadings but I guess it was popular if it is being extended to Middlesbrough and Stockton. Yes Darlo is still operating it usually using a 2011 type Solo, the ones you see on the 9/10 or 21.
Will the solo's with tachographs be used i wonder!
The only 2 in the Durham/Darlo fleet i gather is 2868 & 2869 .
What are these normally asigned to?Long distance stuff!

There are only 2 that are used, but as previously said, because the service is split into 4 smaller routes, a tachograph isn't required.
Kuyoyo. Thanks for the heads up on the Dalesbus. It's far and away more complicated than I thought/know? I had the impression it was just a once bus operation, bit like a day trip? Think I need to read more?

It is one bus - but it operates 4 or 5 different routes during the day.

Why on earth would Solo's need a tachograph? There's no route long enough that a Solo is used on that requires a tachograph (well not in Darlington or Durham anyways)
Going to have a look at the timetable. A shame that our National Park people aren't as pro-active as those from the Yorkshire Dales? Am sure the Moorsbus will be missed.

They can't be, the PVR is either 4 or 5 on the 21 and there's only 2 tachograph Solo's. I'm intrigued too though like you as to why 2 of them have tachographs.

PVR of 3, and it doesn't require Tachographs as it is under the 50km limit required for tachograph operation.
