28025 = YR14 CGF (As reported by Dan)
and now in addition (yet to be registered with the DVLA):
28026 = YR14 CGG
28027 = YR14 CGK
These two vehicles, will therefore complete the first batch of 10, as the deliveries are in two batches. The second batch are the outstanding 13 vehicles (28028 - 28040).
These vehicles are confirmed as being the batch bid for, for service 3 though they will probably pop up on existing GAS bus operated routes.
In addition, it appears that the remaining 13 vehicles, will be delivered in a couple of weeks time, from Mid June, so there will be a gap of a couple of weeks, before the rest are delivered, so registration numbers are likely to differ again.
That was quick, i would think the last 2 of the batch of 10 will arrive on Monday - it shouldn't take long to put the reg plate etc on, we might even get a midweek launch on them!
(01 Jun 2014, 8:51 am)Richard Smiles wrote [ -> ]It will take a few days to prepare them for service Michael, Fleet Names, Numbers, Legal Lettering etc.
In addition, although the vehicles can be registered online with the DVLA. Stagecoach still has to wait for the postman (Snail Mail) to deliver a number of Hard Copy documents, including the Tax Disc/Operators Licence Disc which is displayed in the window.
There's the launch gone then, if there relying on royal mail!
I thought the tax thing was changed so it didn't have to be displayed on the bus?

Hello all
Tried the South Shields Shuttle (or whatever it is called) today for the first time. Noticed on my ticket, the bus number is down as 21156 and the route is 998. Would anyone happen to know what 'route number' if any the sightseeing route in Newcastle is?
Also, would be nice to have a summer seafront service between Sunderland and South Shields (I'm sure the E1 used to serve all stops along the coast although it is only a vague memory).

The City Sightseeing service which runs in Newcastle is service number
CS1.
The South Shields Shuttle is service number
CS2.
I am glad 33101 has gone and that 22734 is a better bus it also looks clean. I was surprized that the rest moved to Carlisle with 22735 going to Newcastle. Cant wait to see are two new Buses Arrive in July. Regards Robin
Has the last 2 gas buses arrived to complete the first batch of 10 gas buses?
(02 Jun 2014, 2:53 pm)Richard Smiles wrote [ -> ]Michael, The answer to your question is Yes 28026 & 28027 are now here complete with Registration Plates, but not yet with Fleet Numbers applied.
I know this, because I've just been sent a photo in the last few minutes.
Thanks Richard =)
Is the Scania van their just for last minute checks?

Robin,
I'm sure as soon as someone has an update on the fleet position, they will make a post.
The new gas buses for Sunderland have not yet entered service; as such, no further cascades have taken place.
Like I say, as soon as the gas buses enter service, I'm sure someone will note it on this thread and this will mean that cascades should start taking place.
Thanks Dan are you ok did you go to the bents park at south shields yesterday for Tees-Tyne Vintage Rallye. I Will Put A Photo in With Message Next Time. Robin

I didn't go, unfortunately.
I've never been particularly interested in that rally, if I'm honest!
A photo on Facebook has confirmed the entry into service of 28019 today, on the 20.
(03 Jun 2014, 9:53 am)Richard Smiles wrote [ -> ]Following the original post above, did any members aside from myself submit photos for the above, as the request for North East Photos has now been removed from the website. We therefore have to assume that, there has been a good response to this as photos appear to be no longer required.
I certainly did, though I can't account for anyone else.
I sent Steve a link to the Stagecoach NE photos on my Flickr photostream and he selected 19 different photographs (almost one of every type) which he liked or could find use for.
Rather surprisingly, he didn't seem too interested in the gas buses or trainer vehicles, as he selected no photographs of those. Assuming you sent a few photographs from Teesside too Richard, I'd imagine this is why Steve has removed the request for North East photos.

Unfortunately not, Richard.
He chose my photograph of 27736 which - in my opinion - isn't quite as good, but I guess it's the photographs that he likes the most which stood the best chance of being published so I let him decide.

I had hoped he'd select
my photograph of 27725 as it's one of the photographs I'm most proud of, but again, he did not.

Services 3 and 13 have been mostly operated by ALX300 vehicles and I would suggest that 28019's entry into service today is as a result of a number of the 28001-17 batch remaining in the depot today.
28020 has been allocated to service 4 (currently at Wheatsheaf bound for Town End Farm).
28021on the 4, heading for town end farm.
(03 Jun 2014, 4:13 pm)Richard Smiles wrote [ -> ]28018 is now confirmed as having also entered service today, as I've just received a photo of the same on Service 4.
28018 and 28021 surprisingly escaped me today. I only missed two of the workings, and typical that it's the two I missed that were allocated gas buses.
Two of the original batch of Scania E300s were also allocated to service 4 today too, with the other workings being ADL E200s.
(03 Jun 2014, 3:47 pm)Richard Smiles wrote [ -> ]I doubt they have been removed from service, they are probably just wanting to get a few of the New ones out on the road, rather than have them sat in the depot.
EDIT: It is likely that they will wait until sufficient are available until service 3 is fully operated by GAS buses, rather than just a couple.
Of the 10 recently delivered, 6 have been registered, but the last four (28024 - 28027) still haven't. So another three need to be available to fully convert the service.
It's also possible that they've got some issues on the older ones that require looking at and whilst Scania are there it's a good chance to get them in especially now they've got all of the new ones as extra buses to play with.
There's a good chance the new ones will go out during the course of the day too, rather than just being allocated from the start of the day. I remember taking 22015 on its maiden voyage on Teesside as they gave me it as a changeover (at the depot gates on a 13).

Didn't notice that! Will have to check my ticket. First time I've been on one of the open toppers.

This means, that effectively ALL 10 of the New batch are now available for service.
Wonder if they will be out on the 3 today.

Why bother? The 4 is ideal!

ye tbh i was surprised when my email came back from them ages ago and they said the 3 and 13 were to get them, was expecting the 4 and something else
(04 Jun 2014, 6:17 am)Richard Smiles wrote [ -> ]They may just be easing them in on the road over the next few days, & to iron out any little glitches, before they launch them on service 3 Next Week ?
Remember, when they got the first batch, they used several of them for Driver Familiarisation etc.
More than Likely, least they can use them on the 16 and 20.
If they order a next batch i believe they will go on the 4
There more likely to be used on most services on a Sunday to, along with the enviro's.
Expect for service 4, i wonder if any of them will wonder on to the 5/5A/8/10/11/12/18/19/23 before they are permanently allocated to the 3.
Be a good time to have a few runs on the routes to see if they are suitable for future buys
