mind i am pleased the urban90's seated lowlanders are staying at durham because when they where on the 35 you could feel every bump on the road.
(23 Aug 2015, 9:23 am)GX03 SVC wrote [ -> ]7453/4/5/6 - the 57-reg ones. Why would Arriva refurbish buses that old to Max?

- edit: to avoid confusion 7453/4/5/6 aren't getting transferred to Ashington, as stated before.
The refurbished X21/22 E400 are 57 plate.

It is preference like I hate the leather seats on the gne streetlites and the wood floors.  They become sticky

All the floors become sticky on the buses at one point.

True, true

i can just bare the leather seats on buses if the driver does stop too quick. i think the floors get stick because young people spill energy drinks and pop on the floor

Such as vomit and blood
The Y reg Lowlander's are awful, wish they'd leave the fleet already! The Urban90's seats in these (or Turban90 which most of them say on the back) are so horrifically worn down the seats would probably be more comfortable without the fabric and the backrest on the backseats are just wood and the fabric is about as much use as tracing paper.

I love them and I disagree I especially like 7438

Amen to that!

I can't understand why Arriva didn't send them for a refurbishment when they sent the B10BLE'S to be honest, they're around the same age, and the Urban90's were horrific for years, at least the B10's have always had decent seating!

I remember being on one of the Y-reg Lowlanders on an X21 while it was still at Ashington (covering for a Sapphire), and we were going around the roundabout at Bedlington, when there was a massive cracking noise, it honestly sounded like the top deck was just going to slide off...

I think they are 100x better than the B10s

I am very cautious

7438 was late literally every time I ever got it, seem to recall it was pretty unreliable as well, a truly horrible vehicle, each to their own though

I used to like them but they are now old, battered, slow and pretty unreliable and I hope there's plans to get rid of them at Belmont as they are total sheds in 2015.

Probably because they spend so much money just trying to keep them on the road.

Think one of Belmont's examples got a re-trim, think it was 7442 which I had the misfortune of riding on the X24 to the MetroCentre. So slow and it made awful noises.

Even though most they are older I hope that the ALX400s stay in service longer than the Lowlander's as they are so much nicer, would love 7477/7478 back at Belmont.

I think 7442 makes a lovely noise

Usually makes no noise as it's in the depot broken.

I'm leaving it at that, I am now going to turn the Tapatalk push notifications for this thread off and I am now going to do something else with my time.
