I think it's a different E400, it is now 19217, I'm sure the other one was 19153, or something like that.

Hi Davie. I have just heard from a driver in South Shields that the two 22's and the two 34's are going some where else. What we are getting in return is 4 x 39's back from Sunderland. Is this true. Regards Robin

I won't be surprised if the upcoming service changes at Sunderland will allow the remaining "53/04-plate" darts to be withdrawn. I assume the reserve "34xxx" darts will most likely be replaced by "03-plate" MAN ALX300s and possibly one or two "56-plate" darts. I wouldn't be surprised if South Shields try to replace 22067/70 by the end of the year as well to make South Shields depot a 100% Enviro-Depot. 22067/70 are meant to be allocated to service X20 but very regularly end up on a difference route. For example 22070 was on the "E" services today.

I did see 22070 out in Sunderland today on E1/2/6. So do you think they will change there mind about getting rid of them both. Regards Robin

Nothings been confirmed yet, Though 34611s time is most likely up in the summer ( 33401s too before you ask ) Though what replaces them is still not known.
Don't know how 22067 and 22070 will be replaced, As 03/53 Reg MANs will probably be displaced in the summer and a handful of 56 reg Darts.
Service X20 during the day requires a full size single deck, So 2 E300s will have to be sourced at the minimum to replace them.

Sunderland should lose:
22079-22082
34605
And one 09 Enviro.
Not confirmed though, just what I've heard.

That 1 09 Enviro could replace 34611 without causing much confusion to the either E200s at Shields, Apart from a different gearbox.
34605 will be withdrawn probably
22079-22082 could go to Slatyford for the short term or permanent if there an older MANs that could be replaced after everything arrives.

Does anyone know the reason to 22673 making an appearance at Eldon Square bus station earlier?

I really doubt Darts will ever see service on Teesside since we don't need them, if any buses will replace the deckers (which could be likely) I'd be expecting more ALX300's.

Not sure, was just told it was a 09 reg, hopefully they've changed it so a NK58 will go instead.

I hope it's not any of the ones we got rid off last time. 39704/5/6/7 Regards Robin

19195 had a bit of trouble in Newcastle earlier, I see! How the hell it happened, I don't know.

RE: Formal confirmation of the Preservation of 21037
They've been well know but I can reveal that 37 was formally preserved last Tuesday when the cheque cleared. I didn't report it simply because I was going to wait until the next fleet card was released. She is now owned by the Chairman of the 500 Group. As for her future, that is remaining secret

Didn't I just confirm that? I'm meaning her future within preservation - I'll being keeping that under wraps until she's ready (which will not be anytime soon)

Cheers

You said her future remained a secret......so no, you did not confirm it, but now you have.

That could be a matter of opinion - 37 was effectively purchased by the chairman (the offer to purchase was made before he became the chairman) but it will be treated as part of the group's fleet.

I confirmed her purchase, and the future was reverting to the plans for the vehicle regarding her restoration etc. Does that give you a better understanding of my original post.

Aye, we've heard the stories about how it takes nine years to restore a bus...
Surely which livery it is going to be restored into is limited to two choices... Transit livery or Stagecoach Stripes. Given your reference to fleet number 37, I will go with the former.

Nine years? Now there's a story I'd like to hear.
