Several incidents happened a few years ago where a bus moved forward in Darlington.
You may remember the ecocity powling into the bank

What actually happened with that.

It's not difficult to google 'darlo bus crash' - you can find any information you're after there without requesting people to spell out the details of a fatal incident
Not technically about the fleet, but Arriva seem to be having some real issues with their ticket machines at the moment. I've had 4 free journeys in the last 3 weeks due to the machines not working or reading the debit card. It's always at the same stop for me, so is this likely to be an issue there or across the board? I'm happy to keep up the free trips though.

I noticed this on Tuesday. The machine wasn't reading the card for me or the lad in front so told us to sit down

I've had the same about 3-4 times over the past month too on my way to work. On most if not all of those occasions, the bus was also not tracking properly on the app/bustimes, so I wonder if it's linked to the issues with the signal/3G?

It will be - as I mentioned on a GNE thread, it is an issue being faced by Ticketer’s customers nationally.

Good to know. Long may it continue. Free journeys work for me

Anyone know why the Whitby Solo's ain't out today. The B9's are so confused on whats wrong with the solos. I know they're using Redcar's 1438 & 2857 for the 95 & 96
Also, isn't the 63 a PVR of 11. Only 7 buses are on there today. Must be having a really bad day. Also do ya reckon drivers don't have a bus to operate their shifts on get paid. I would assume they get paid despite not doing anything because it ain't their fault.
Edit:
Also just remembered that the 63 doesn't have a PVR of 11 on Saturdays. Also 2857 has stopped tracking on the 96. However it last tracked in Glaisdale and was there for 20 minutes. I wonder what's happened there
The NSAs have recently been updated on the X21/22, but whoever has done them has done a pretty poor job.
Currently on an X22, and the NSA screen is showing X21 at the bottom throughout despite it occasionally flashing up with a full screen "this is your X22 service to Ashington". The stop at the new estate in Cramlington hasn't been added in, despite it being on the route for years now. An X21 I was on yesterday had a stop as "S Gosforth waypoint North", which isn't exactly helpful.

Arriva probably don't update nsa much as they only have 5 routes with nsa in Northumberland. That being the 43/44/45/X21/X22 but the nsa probably won't be updated till next weekend when the X21 route change comes into play as if they did a nsa change now they would have to redo it again next Sunday

X14, X15, X16, X18, X20, X21, X22 and soon to be 35 and technically 777 if 1512/1513 are used. No point counting the 40's, the buses are on every route but them. Technically the 47, would be one aswell though.

My point is that they *have* been updated, and are still incorrect, because whoever has done them has evidently not checked if they work in practice.

Unsure on Northumbria, but Darlington seemingly had most of their routes programmed into their NSAs, so could be possible that they have more routes in them than you'd think, even routes that typically aren't allocated NSA enabled buses.
Think Darlo's were last updated shortly after the E200MMCs transferred in, but I haven't taken much notice of late and I often seem to wind up on buses without them.

Unless it's been changed, I don't believe they ever did up here, I know they never had them on the 57/57A, including the 2 months or so E200MMC's were on and I don't believe the 1 or 2 have been done either.
Every other route on paper, should have them done anyway but I wouldn't be surprised if the 35 isn't done either (never use it though so unsure).

63 PVR is 13 weekdays, 9 on a Saturday. Not sure what Sundays are since they stuck the 64s in there - but they’re a lot more reliable now they get decent layovers on a Sunday!

I think it’s the 64A but unsure but I believe it’s one per hour and one bus swaps onto it when a 63 gets into Middlesbrough. I know it’s decently thought out. I’m surprised there’s no 62 on Sundays. You would think people would want to go and use the shops but apparently not.

Just remember the bus companies are always right and know what's best or where people want to travel to and when...
It just shows if you look at the X24 & X34 SNE routes which have never had Sunday buses got them due to the BSIP and they get better loadings than some of the midday weekday runs...
1590 seems a bit poorly, took an absolute age to get up Newton Cap bank. Even in 1st gear it felt like we were losing speed
I thought Streetlites were supposed to be good on hills!

Even though people hated the Lites at Redcar when they were there, I actually thought they weren’t too bad. I just think that the repair work that gets done to them isn’t enough. But Lites are best for Small Local routes.

I actually quite like the Streetlites, they're a comfy ride and providing they've been fixed, are very smooth.

I prefer traveling on the old Arriva Solo's than the Streetlites. Both Arriva and GNE versions regularly feel like you're traveling in a tumble dryer, and they feel really small and claustrophobic. The seats are tiny and don't fit four cheeks across a pair comfortably.

Some were, some weren't. Most of the batch were decent runners and did what they had to do. There were 4 or 5 which had problems from time to time but that's common with all bus types. Even with the 200 MMC's which Stagecoach operate on the 1 & 2 Saltburn - Loftus route have had a fair few breakdowns and problems. Also, the Pulsars aren't really do much better at the moment either. I actually think the best performing vehicle in Redcar at the minute is 1534. I remember people were saying it was getting withdrawn when the winter timetables come into effect. It's a good job it didn't cause its been a great addition.
Anyone know what’s going on with 1422? Haven’t seen it out for a while.

1534 as been truly a relabel vehicle and excellent performance

Not to be a negative nelly but it stopped tracking after 10 this morning.
Took a ride on a temsa today and it was like being back on a prestige the smell how uncomfortable it was was ridiculous

I’m going to suggest it just stopped tracking rather than anything more. That board doesn’t appear to have been replaced all day which I am sure it would be had it broke. Should be out til nearly midnight so I am sure they’d have replaced it if so.
