So when someone who has looked at 'North Seaton' scrolling on the screen, they used the 30 a lot (which had North Seaton on the front), got on the 434 just to find out it only calls at The Elephant...?

Fancy a walk from The Elephant to North Seaton Village or North Seaton Colliery?  Wink

thats what am thinking they might be kicking about waiting to get repainted so they will loose the highwayman brand while its in the que for the repainting shed at Saltmeadows

In the description for 5327 it says it has.

Going back to the Scania Omnilink query. Go North East has operated two different demos (one 2 axle the other 3 axle) of this vehicle type, though I think the blue one may have been a loan to cover warrenty work on the Scania Omnicities.

First one was 2-axle version YN07EZB as seen here - https://www.flickr.com/photos/chriswhite...860995342/ - this now operates for Go-Ahead subsidury Anglian Bus

Second one was 3-axle version YR09GXP as seen here - https://www.flickr.com/photos/johnmighty...rRx-pkDPfq - this ended up with DRM, Bromyard and is now registered UK09DRM.

I believe Northumberland County Council were responsible for selecting the via points - I certainly had no involvement in choosing what they were (same as the Durham University bus).

It doesn't look that far away from the green area so yes, i would walk from the Elephant into the Village or Colliery.
Re Citaros question: 40 and 41 drivers show "wallsend" ok departure from wallsend (they no longer change at Hadrian park).

Ok = on (damn autocorrect!)
4940 is now Dark Green.
The Streetdeck is on the X10 - and was the 1130 from Middlesbrough (left Stockton on-time as well)

That answers that query, then.

The 'places served' for service 40, according to Go North East's website is:
Wallsend - Station Road - High Farm - Battle Hill Drive - Hadrian Park - Howdon - Roshill - Wallsend

As such, the destinations are as follows:

40 Hadrian Park
via Station Road - High Farm - Battle Hill Drive

40 Wallsend
via Howdon - Rosehill

41 Hadrian Park
via Rosehill - Howdon

41 Wallsend
via Battle Hill Drive - High Farm - Station Road

Departing Wallsend, the driver should show 'Hadrian Park', and, upon arrival at Hadrian Park, the destination should be changed to 'Wallsend'.

Quick enough to notice an update on our News page, but I think you missed the fact that the brand logos have been updated on Go North East's website? Tongue

Interesting......Northern is actually classed as a brand.

Edit: Still think they should of brought back West Durham Swift

Yes because that's the brand name... GNE are getting rid of the cooperate version of "Northern" and replacing it with "Go North East".

Sure its being said before.

My point was that Northern is actually becoming a stand alone brand,  instead of being amalgamated into the new GNEcorporate livery. Like I said, would of been better if they brough back the WDS

Ah right sorry, i miss-read your post.

It looked great on the omni's, not too sure if it would suit the omnidekkas.

Ya never know it may re-emerge in the future...... Big Grin

I think it would, hopefully it does.

Opps typo in my last reply!
4897 4898 Deptford to Riverside
5285 has now been branded for Durham Diamond

Think West Durham Swift could have been brought up to date in the style of Red Kite, which looks good on Streetlites and Double Deck B9s, The  image of a Swift (bird) in flight, similarly placed on rear panel. (X30/X31 have no connection/synergy with other Toonlink services 11/12 or routes on that corridor)
X70/X71 could also have been included in this new "Swift service to Newcastle" (as these services were part of the original WDS having a similar routing from Sunniside)
"New Northern" Service 6 would have looked good similarly branded as "Magpie" with imagery of a Magpie in flight on rear quarter panel, following Red Kite (and peoposed "Swift" theme)
"Magpie" obviously has associations with Newcastle (Destination) but also (the birds) attraction to Diamonds (service with which it connects - having been the Northern part of the old Diamond service) - Maybe a lot more marketing could play on these themes?

All these "Bird in flight" brands would have synergy of connecting North West Durham towns with Newcastle.

p.s. - I notice from changes to Stanley services, the section of A692 from Pickering Nook Lights to Top Croookgate bank, passing The Hobson Hotel/Golf Course is no longer served (previously by 44 Diamond, which will in future be Northern 6 routed via Burnopfield)
