I've always thought the Solars on X84/85 were specifically express buses as they were on X20/X50 Sunderland - Durham - South Shields, later OK1 then TynedaleXpress. Would be wasted on 57, which is predicted to be mid blue Citaros off Diamond???

Sure i saw 9119 heading to Percy Main before. If it was how they got it back and how long for?

Ye the Signal Blue Citaros should be going on the 57 replacing the duel doors which will allow 5 of the 1999 duel door B10's to be withdrawn.
Any pictures of 5218/5227 in Green Arrow?

I would say that that is nothing but a coincidence. Look at the Diamond citaros for example, they have remained on normal service work (not expresses) all their lives. Does that mean that they were bought specifically for that kind of work and should only operate on routes of that nature?

Restart the OK1?
There's a test centre down there. Could be that Sandy Lane was fully booked?

Yeah, IIRC these Solars have high backed seats?

I'm sure I read on one of the facebook groups that the Training buses have been stretching their legs a bit to take the Trainees out of their comfort zone and test their competance around areas they are unfamiliar with.

New Northern 6
Just passed along A692 Pickering Nook to Crookgate Bank Top via Hobson Hotel and noticed Durham County Council have posted New Timetables including Service 6 from Sunday (replacing 44 Diamond),although Service 6 will route via Lintz and Burnopfield, only rejoing A692 at Pack Horse (Bottom og Crookgate Bank) Missing out this section via Hobson.
Burnopfield stop on GNE Timetable reads "Burnopfield Post Office" (which no longer exists - as nearest P.O. is at Leazes, so will cause confusion to some,- Leazes is often referred to as part of Burnopfield) Durham County Council refer to this stop as "Front Street" Burnopfield. (Used to be Old Co-op Buildings) but as new Co-op Foodstore is located in the Old Travellers Rest in Leazes end of Burnopfield any reference to Co-op would also be confusing.

Just had reply to my mail to Durham County Council re. New Service 6
Quote from Durham County Council mail:
......... My colleague who was putting the poster out at the bus stop called to advise us of the error this morning.
There was a discrepancy in whether the service 6 serves the Bank Top stops and Go North East have confirmed it is only the 836 school service which stops there.
We are currently changing 600 bus stop posters for Sunday’s bus service revisions, once we have an interval in this workload we will be amending the posters to the correct information.
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention

@Dan/Citaro5284 - 5246's front destination is playing up again, yesterday it was flickering and was showing a blue/white square and an Arial '1'.

That's correct, and they gained Wi-Fi when they moved from the OK1 to the X84/X85 too.

Noticed some of the new timetables now say "intu Metrocentre" instead of "Metrocentre" on the covers including the 45/46/47 and 97/97A/X97 although the new TEN and 96 timetables still say "Metrocentre"

Can someone make sure that whatever's on the 434/448 has timetables on board? Someone from Arriva has taken down all the 434 timetables in the shelters ("would you see Asda advertising Tesco?") and hasn't bothered replacing the 'permanent' ones.
Cheers.
Cheers.

Streetdeck is at Percy Main to get work done as drivers on the X9/X10 are not happy with its performance its far too slow for that route it cannot keep to time on the A19 bit, so its gone to Percy to get fixed. Will be back on X9/X10 sometime later this week maybe next but it won't last long me thinks.
Also th yellow mpd 570 maybe?? Its for the Team valley shuttle due to start next week. Its not a spare bus for Riverside as previously reported on here somewhere. It was supposed to be a red MPD for the shuttle but well ya nah...

Can't help but wonder, if Riverside has supposedly got the best mechanical facilities out of all of the depots within the company, why has it been sent back to Percy Main to receive maintenance?
22 Oct 2015, 2:38 pm
It hasn't gone back to Percy Main to receive maintenance as far as I know - could we please ensure that all speculation is clearly marked as such?
To clarify; it was used on the 327 yesterday, and operated straight from Riverside Depot. It has been at Bells near the Team Valley for maintenance all of today, though is out and about on the road again now.
The yellow MPD is 542, and it is indeed a float vehicle to be used on various shuttle services (like 547 at Stanley - presently on the TESCO contract). For the next four months it will see use on the Chowdene Bridge closure shuttle service, though I'd already reported this. I'm not sure where we have got the idea that it was supposed to be a red MPD allocated...

I said 5229 - 5233 were specifically "express" buses. Can't remember what they did between the X20/50 and the OK1.

If they get Streetdecks, they will be the worst double deck purchase since the Lolyne. Will be interesting if it ends up on a peak time 10B or even a Riverside board that serves Hexham on the 10 if any without having an overnight stop. Would almost certainly not have enough power to get up the A184 incline towards Askew Rd Junction / Redheugh Bridge approach from the Teams without causing a tailback.

Why are you obsessed with wanting GNE to put the Streetdeck on the TEN services? It isn't going to happen as there is nothing wrong with the B9s (no reason to compare with them either unlike the cobalt clipper) on there at the moment so you might as well just not get your hopes up.
