has 673 / 679 had its NSA fixed beacuse there broken from last year
Service 2 towards Silksworth has been adjusted
.On journeys towards Silksworth it no longer annoounces "Next Stop Sunderland City Centre Vine Place"
It now announces"Next Stop Sunderland City Centre Borough Rd" which is actually the stop after Vine Place and not the stop it stops at next which is Stockton Rd, it's then Grange Terrace, then Civic centre, then Burdon Rd and then finally Borough Rd.( Hurray)
So really they've just taken out Vine Place, and not updated.
Service 2A still announces Vine Place

In my opinion that is just laziness as most of the GNE services in Sunderland do that (one way) loop and may stop at those stops...
2/2A/9/20/20A/24/33/35/35A/38/39/39A/39B/56/61
with the exception of X6/X20/8/60/61A/78/700/702

So would it also be lazy for SCNE to send all of there services that way aswell bar the 8/20

I think they meant lazy programming on the NSA since so many services do the same thing.
Currently on a drifter and according the nsa im arriving at Parkside at 1am. Luckily I'm not going that far ?

hey, I don't mean to be rude but please try to think before you reply to everything with haste. It was quite clear what I meant as I did not say it was laziness sending the services on the one way loop, i was clearly mentioned the programming of the NSA. Thanks Smile

Pricesly as most services go to those stops it should be of importance as someone who is new to Sunderland, public transport or just directions isn't their forte then it will cause confusion.

Yeah thats across the board on almost every single NSA screen since they launched the newer software, it's never been fixed (priorities change i get it but imo passenger confusion and ease should be at the forefront)
I heard a new NSA and it said something along the lines of we are sorry, but due to delays on route this bus will terminate at the next stop, another bus will enable you to continue this journey, doing this will help get us on track, your driver will have additonal details if needed.

That has existed for years, just very rarely used.

How is that played? Can drivers manually play announcements from a small library like on iBus in London, or is that preset into short routes, eg a 27 only going as far as Gateshead?

Under 0, called Transferring Passenger Audio, displays NIS on the destination.

Personally I used to use it whenever I was terminating short at the metrocentre and not heading into Newcastle - even if I told people when boarding that had requested stops past there that I was terminating at the Metro they mostly all stayed on board at the metro and acted with surprise at being told to get on the bus in front. You can only do so much.
“This is the North Tyne Rockets Three Five One service to Whitley Bay”.

Jesus.

I guess at least they haven't squeezed "Blast Off" in after the dyslexic countdown Big Grin

I guess it’s clunky, but it’s hardly surprising. As that’s how GNE do NSA’s on all services…

“This is the Peterlee Purples Two Oh Nine service to Horden Hall” for example…
But i think it depends on how you say it really, I would always say 3-0-8, or 2-0-2 or 2-6-5, 2-3-8

I would never say e.g (208) the 2 Thirty Eight or the Two Hundered and Eight, I would say 2-0-8

The number bit is fine, it’s the bit before that’s unnecessary.
