I'd prefer it if they served the areas they serve alone properly instead of putting up competition against other companies on a route that has very low passenger numbers already.

Was not expecting that!

Presumably Arriva are somewhat hoping to compete with the Go North East X7 which I don't think is the worst idea considering that the X7 seems to carry a fair few passengers between Peterlee and Seaham Byron Place.

It's not quite the current X22 route to Sunderland as it'll still run via Essington Way to reach the A19 after Peterlee Bus Station. X21 will still run via Pennine Drive on Sundays. Also according to the timetable the last journey on Saturday's from Sunderland will be the 18:30 to Newton Aycliffe.

That's annoying, then because I used to be able to hop on the X21 and get to Peterlee before the 22 I'd invariably missed! (I think they messed that timing up with the last lot of changes, mind)

the 24 change is to make the 20:08 Peterlee to Hartlepool journey depart 10 minutes later and run 10 later throughout to maintain a connection from the north.

No idea what it's like on the app but the timetable should be there on the website if you look for it, the full X21 timetable for the full route between Darlington and Sunderland on the X21 timetable page, X21 and X22 times should be on the 21/21A page. The PDF timetables are in typical fashion a absolute mess, Peterlee - Sunderland section is just dumped randomly within the timetable probably after Newton Aycliffe Town Centre again!

After months of deliberation the joint changes between SC Cumbria and Arriva for the 685 Carlisle-Newcastle corridor finally come into action from November 11th, fresh new special brand for the vehicles as well as better timetable between the companies for better coordination.

The Sunderland journeys do fall further up the timetable (sadly).

It appears further improvements to the X22 as well on the Saturday timetable:

• The 0831 from Sedgefield will now start in Stockton at 0803
  
• The 0931 from Sedgefield will start in Middlesbrough at 0850
  
• As per the weekday timetable, 1720 from Peterlee to Stockton will leave Peterlee at 1725 and will extend to Middlesbrough arriving at 1850

Ah - when i tried to get the pdf timetable, it gave me the current one.

And when I looked at the online timetable, it didn't have the third column each hour, with the s'land-p'lee times!
