RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - October 2016
(07 Oct 2016, 3:44 pm)Y935 ERG wrote Surely keeping 4912 is more logical considering they don't even have enough single deckers for the 19, despite the fact that they have 5 B7RLE's for a PVR of 4.
Is 606 still in service, if so where?
It costs a lot of money to have extra spare vehicles in the fleet, so it makes sense for 635 and 636 to form part of a depot's PVR during the winter season. Keeping 4912 in the fleet is not more logical.
Arriva do the same each year with their peak/off-peak timetables in Whitby - when services revert back to their 'off-peak' timetables, vehicles are withdrawn. Given the investment into new and second-hand vehicles, there's bound to be cascades available by the time the services revert back to their 'peak' timetables. This applies to both Go North East and Arriva.

Edit: The arrival back to Stanley seems to match so i am guessing this is the case
The running board is as follows:
- 08:12 #V8 (Park Horse - Stanley)
- Services 689 / 687 / 682
- 15:23 #831 (St Bedes School - Stanley)
- 16:05 #90 (Team Valley - Winlaton)
- 17:00 #12 (Blaydon - Newcastle)
- 17:55 #V8 (Metrocentre - Stanley)
Following use on the Tesco Consett service earlier in the day, 604 was allocated to the second half of the running board (831 service onwards) to replace Solo 641. 641 was instead allocated to services 45/47.
