In fairness, if bus operators actually bothered to do full refurbs, then people wouldn't care about the age. It's a good way to prolong the length of a bus. Arriva used to be pretty good in that regard, the Wright B7's which came from London felt like new buses pretty much and apart from the number plate at the front, most people wouldn't have a clue.
It's very different to sitting on a First, GoAhead London, Brighton and Hove or whatever other scruffy rubbish is floating around with GoNorthEast.
Transdev and Wellglade are very good at this, aswell.
