Not sure where exactly but I think it is somewhere local to the 308/309 routes as he is often banging on about them.

I love DB to bits - particularly the passion and conviction he shows.

But, due to the constant reference to both (unless it is misleading like my references to the village 1 mile south if Bournmoor), Willington Square and Formica - either Willington Square or Norham Road areas.

Gonna try and knock up a fake one eh?

I'll still accept it as a prize. I'm not fussy.

May change my answer to New York.

Whitley Bay?

No idea as I have pretty much no local knowledge beyond Newcastle Haymarket Bus Station.

Can I have cash instead as GNE tickets are no use to me.

I initially had Whitley Bay but you can have it and I'll take New York.

Don't think there's much chance of a cash prize equivalent unless Malarkey agrees to photocopy a few £20 notes or create the new £27.50 note which the economy currently craves.

I am totally guessing as I can't see to view timetables on Arriva's website on my mobile so I ended viewing the 309 timetable and a search on Google brought up a 308 timetable from the Bygone Era section of the forum I think.

I loved 527 and wish GNE would bring it back old route & reintroduce 532 as 87. Instead of relying on one service to Newcastle.

That would be a good idea we now have 1 bus service to Newcastle since 27X went I would re-number 87 something like 7

The 8/8A/78/78A timetables have being updated to C&C on the GNE site, as they still showed the "Lime" ones.

The 45/46 have also have being updated to show the Red Kite brand on the Streetlites

Fleet Movements from GNE's website:

5145 5146 withdrawn from Riverside
6125 6127 6128 in service at Stanley

Further to this; Riverside's Volvo B7RLE/Wright Eclipse 4979 (NK54 NUJ) transferred to Hexham Depot this afternoon, following installation of seatbelts at Thorntons.

So im guessing the Orbit brand will be dropped in favour for the Quaylink (or maybe a completely different new brand to reflect that the service is commercially operated). I think it is a good move for GNE to extend an existing service that makes money rather than keeping the Q1 and Q2 as they aren't making enough money whatsoever to keep Nexus investing in it.

Hexham are getting a good bus, had this on the 5 about 2 weeks ago. Best ride on the 5 in my life.  also has this got anything to do with Howard Snaiths? if it is are GNE going to operate the once daily route from Otterburn to Newcastle or is it being dropped.

Go North East has, so far, gained the following contracts from Howard Snaiths:

0108 (Haydon Bridge High School - Haltwhistle)
0110 (Haydon Bridge High School - Haltwhistle via Bardon Mill)
0135 (Hexham Schools - Matfen)
0136 (Hexham Schools - Halton Shield)
0141 (Hexham Schools - Steel)

Should the company gain any further work from Howard Snaiths, I have no doubt it will be posted on this forum once details are appropriate to confirm.

Whatever was on the NPower shuttles (562?) needs looking at.

The rear blind has a line running through the NPower bit.
The rear bumper was loose and it looked like the rear bonnet latch had fallen off! The bonnet was flapping away in the wind, although not as exposed as the ANE Omni on the A19 the other week!

Like how 6125 6127 6128 has entered service but nothing as being withdrawn, more of a chance to get Olympican still!

Are they just keeping all the buses in service because of repaints etc?

4979 is a brilliant bus, I have had it many times on all Toon Link services and it is a very nice smooth ride, and I am glad to hear that it has found a new home in Hexham.

As for Go North East gaining extra scholars contracts, does anyone have an idea when they will start operating these services?

They've been operating them for a week now with 7093 and coaches on loan - more information on the "News" section of the website.

So, the 51/52 is definitely being extended to the Quayside and Newcastle then?  I hope so, because it will restore many direct links to Newcastle that were lost (Easedale Gardens, Springwell Estate etc.)

Ye, its a good move, like you said it allows those links to return from Easedale Gardens etc.

More details should posted in the next few weeks on the GNE site.
