Thanks

The 8 goes a slower route to the 50 - but is more scenic.
Possible photo opportunities for the 8 and 2's around Fatfield and Rickleton/Picktree (8 and 82's) if that is what you are after

I just want to see what the Connections4 Citaros look and feel like, before changing in Washington Galleries and then going across to Marcusland to get some photos and timetables etc.
Thanks for the advice
(17 Feb 2015, 4:24 pm)Andreos1 wrote The Galleries is well before Fencehouses from Heworth. Takes about 20mins to travel between the two.
Big fan of those Mercs. They've been on nearly a year and a half and don't seem to miss a beat, despite being pushed hard at times and are in good nick, despite being subjected to a number of secondary schools along the way.

Is it where Dan got his photo of the service on it's first day.

(01 Jul 2015, 5:29 pm)Jimmi wrote I'll post this here rather than the Bus Outings thread... Thinking about maybe making a trip up to South Shields on Saturday travelling up from Sunderland on one of the Stagecoach E services.
So a few questions:
Which is the best to get from Sunderland - South Shields in terms of scenery etc. E1/E2/E6?
Also is there any other routes from South Shields I should maybe look at riding once I have gotten my photos in South Shields and wish to travel somewhere else?
Any suggestions welcome

(01 Jul 2015, 5:50 pm)Dan wrote E1 probably your best bet - this is the one that follows the coastline the most.I may try some E photos if I head to the Seaburn Rally as the Enviros will probably be out that day (or they where last year).
Failing that, I'd suggest E6. I uploaded a photo to Flickr a few weeks back of an E400 operating either an E2 or E6 climbing a bank. Some decent views.

(01 Jul 2015, 7:10 pm)Jimmi wrote This is going to sound a little stupid but... how's the ferry work, obviously it goes over the water, what I mean is, are there seats to sit on and how do you pay. I ask as I am a little nervous as I have no experience of things like this.
How much would it cost to get the ferry from South Shields to North Shields?
(01 Jul 2015, 7:12 pm)Tom wrote Yeah there is a upper and lower deck, and there are seats
It's £1.60 each way.
(01 Jul 2015, 7:43 pm)Jimmi wrote Is there ticket machines or do you have to go to some sort of ticket office? These questions sound totally dumb.
Where would be the best place for photos in North Shields?
(01 Jul 2015, 7:47 pm)Tom wrote No, you buy them from the conductor as you board the ferry.
There aren't many great places in North Shields, but Northumberland Square is nice. I'd recommend going to Tynemouth if you have time, as there are some lovely coast shots there, and you've got regular services on the 1, 306 and 333 going there. Whitley Bay is also decent too.
(01 Jul 2015, 8:03 pm)Jimmi wrote Oh ok
Will try and squeeze Tynemouth in if I have time. Did Tynemouth back in October? for the Coastliner 306 StreetLite launch, hopefully it will be warmer than it was that day
(01 Jul 2015, 8:11 pm)Tom wrote Yeah it's a nice place, and the 333 goes direct from the Ferry.
