Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes

RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes
(08 Sep 2015, 4:55 pm)S813 FVK wrote Suppose they aren't too big but very few journeys have fewer than 13 passengers on at any point over the course of the section. Suppose it could manage fine but its the Peak Times which could prove a problem.
The peak runs, get decent loads - so I wonder if the quiet day time/busy peaks have altered the thinking?

(08 Sep 2015, 4:56 pm)R852 PRG wrote It seems the Durham-Sacriston and Craghead-Stanley parts of the route are the key corridors in

Granted I can't see the demand for Craghead - Newcastle being massive, but interesting to note that Craghead has had a bus to Newcastle for years.
The 728 and now the 43/44. Plus owt else over the years.

Obviously the Sacriston - Daisy Hill section, has the option of an X25.

(08 Sep 2015, 5:09 pm)Davie wrote It can't due to there being a low bridge on the 28 route and Lolynes are allocated (For the time being) to the X25 Mondays - Fridays.

Only 2(?) Monday to Friday boards are allocated Deckers. Rest should be made up of Solars.

(08 Sep 2015, 5:04 pm)Tom wrote Ah right does it pick many up there, could it be withdrawn that way and just have the 130?

I went through there at midday, and it dropped off a couple of people. It needs a bus service through there.
RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes
just that when I was at chester today, pronto was changed with another pronto, and 4934 was swapped with 4932 on the X25 while I was waiting for the arriva X12 to Newcastle, and when I was at Eldon square 4932 left bus station on service 28 with a small piece of paper stuck on the front window with 28 on it. also chester travelshop still has the old toonlink timetables on display and yes I posted the messages in the wrong thread by accident Blush .

I'm guessing you mean 4931?

Why would 4931 have a piece of paper stuck in the window with 28 on it apart from its destination not working? The plot thickens....  Smile
RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes
(08 Sep 2015, 5:10 pm)Tom wrote So might be worth just having the 130 running Stanley-Lanchester via Burnhope and Quaking Houses and if the V8 won't operate anymore with Solos then that's where the buses could come from, or possibly the 706/707 is that is being withdrawn. It's only a 10 minute walk to the 78 bus stop anyway.

A 10 minute walk can an inconvenience to passengers.

Yes, that's right. Service X25 is allocated two Dennis Tridents and three Scania L94s.

Riverside's Scania L94 4932 and 4933 were allocated to the "Highwayman" services 97/98 today, 4944 and 4966 were allocated to service 94 and 4964 was allocated to service 27.

Chester-le-Street's Scania L94s 4926/27/31 were allocated to service X25 today, 4928/29 were allocated to service 50 today, and 4934 was allocated to services 13/14 today.

Not sure what Chris saw!

As Robert said before, our fleet lists aren't being updated until we're onto the new fleet list system which will automatically update the news page.

RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes
well I got the coast and country 78 11:37 from park lane to chester, and I was waiting for Arriva X12 from chester to Newcastle at 12:39, at 12:35 4934 red X25 pulled into the stand lady driver, supervisor told the driver that you getting a changeover and 4932 came from chester depot and pulled round to the back of 4934, depot driver took 4934 back towards the depot, the lady driver started to pull away from the stand when the supervisor shouted to the driver that the destination is blank, but by this time the x12 came down and tried to get onto the stand, and when I was at Eldon square looking around, 4932 was in the stand showing a piece of paper at the central top of the window screen showing the number 28. don't know if it can be back traced if theres any chester drivers on here, it was definite both buses were in the 493* series, im positive it was 4932 and 4934 unless my head got battered with the next stop announcements on the 78

I think this may be the case. If Dan can confirm it's spent the day on the 97/98, it's not been at Chester-le-Street.

4932 was on the 97 departing Newcastle at 12:03, arriving Metrocentre at 12:52pm.

4934 has been on the 28 today too, by the looks of it. Unsure how this relates to an X25 but hey ho.

(08 Sep 2015, 4:57 pm)Michael wrote I think having same route numbers will confuse a lot of people although they aren't in the same area's...

Numbers currently not used (Doesn't include letter variations):

3,6,7,12,16,22-26,30,48,51,52,55,62,63,65,66,70-73,75-77,79,81,83,87,89,100 but i doubt well see three number services on all of them - maybe the 131/706/707.
All those could be used for new numbers....

You should never forget '42', it is, after all, the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything!

On the side of the bus? If so, the 11 serves there...

Found the issue - VOSA cancellation. Valid point i suppose.

A few years ago I think the odd peak time 31 or 32 ventured up to Blackhall Mill.
