A similar point was raised by Dan the other day about Lothian.

While routes use double deckers, they don't necessarily need the extra capacity during the day but do during peak times.

What will the PVR be for these changes then? Might get a better idea when the times are published

That was never officially confirmed, though, merely speculated...

Go North East's website stating that services X30/X31/X32 will fall under the "Toon Link" brand is confirmation of that change, and I can't see OmniDekkas getting repainted black after they've just been painted red a few months ago...

I reckon they'll be the Citaros though, with the Omnidekkas on the 6 and X70/X71.

Good changes all over, its about time the 8 went to Beamish Entrance.

Looking forward to seeing the allocations now.

I would put some omnidekka's and citaros on the X30/X31/X32 and put omnicities, one or two omnidekka's and some citaros on the 6

Going by Dan's latest photo's on Flickr... Allocations at Stanley seem to be: (expect for the 30) (Although most of us knew)

Stanley:

Northern 6/X70/X71/X72 – Omnidekka’s
Durham Diamond 16 & 16A – Blue Citaro’s
New Venture 30 – Not sure how many Venture Solo Sr's will be left after you include the new V7/V8 and the rest of them... so for this - i think it might be 5293-5297, which are allocated, repainted Venture Yellow... unless its confirmed where the remaining Citaro's will go....?
New Venture V7 & V8 – Venture Solo Sr’s
Services X30, X31 and new X32 – ToonLink Omnicities

Other services:

15/15A - B7's
Red Kite PVR will go up by 1 - 5401 the one allocated. (Dan said this on his photo)
Coast and Country 8/78/78A remain the same
Rest of the Stanley allocations the same.

So to Gateshead - we haven't had the official annoucment yet but here's my guess with other allocations mentioned above...

11/11A/12/12A – Scania L94’s.
64?/95/96 – B10 – Dan said it was never confirmed the 96 will interwork with another service... this will probables change when the official changes are announced. (not sure if the 64/64A will remain in service)
97/97A/X97 – Scania L94 - Highwayman 
Other services remain the same.

Yeah not a bad idea. Then the Solars could go on a Omnicity route, replacing them to Riverside for the Toon Link. Can see the 11/96 remaining Toon Link that's why I think that.

Could do maybe then, the Cobalt Connect brand could be decent then...

I wasn't sure on the 30 because i don't know what the PVR's will be for the V7/V8, wasn't sure if GNE wanted to keep the 2 spare Venture Solo SR's still.

Yeah that's a good point. Not sure what could be allocated, but I'm guessing it's going to be something older if not Solos

They could, means a few can be took out of service to be repainted at once... without the need to replace them - like they did when the scania's got repainted for the X84/X85.

The 57 is in desperate need of new buses... maybe your right, the Citaro's will end up at Hexham... and the 57 will get scania's.

And something which hasn't been mentioned is 5238 has lost its 11/A and 31/2 details.

I think we were all expecting Dan to do what he usually does (make a post of all latest news in the relevant thread referencing his photos) but he seems to have been quite quiet over the past couple of days. Must be all of this service change speculation haha! He was on the night shift updating the Percy Main destinations last night however.

He'll probables appear later and give us his normal update....... about repaints etc.... that's if Citaro hasn't chained him up somewhere!

Citaros will probs go on 57 as the ones they have on there now are getting old and tired

i think Citaros will transfer to Riverside for 57 the vehicles on there now look shaddy and tacky

Citarios could go on upgrading service X35 with the scanias go to service 57

Don't forget that the X25 requires some double deckers on weekdays for interworking with scholar services.
