This has been out and about in the Bensham area the past few days.

Weardale have had an unusually common presence in the Bensham area too over the past few days. I've seen one of their Solos three times today - morning, noon and evening.

Well that is because everybody now uses the 131 or works from home because they don't want to spend an hour on a minibus/van! Dodgy
RE: PCL Travel
I visited the garage of PCL Travel yesterday afternoon. Their current fleet is shown below:

BAZ7053 Volvo B10M-60 Van Hool C53F 1990 Priory Coach & Bus Limited, North Shields 103 2015 Formerly G853RNC

RIL5885 Mercedes Benz 709D Advanced Vehicle Builders B25F 1994 Grahams Motor Services Limited, West Auckland M12 2015 Formerly M679RAJ

PN06FJC Mercedes Benz 616CDI Mellor B15L 2006 Grahams Motor Services Limited, West Auckland 2015

They also currently have Mercedes Benz 0814D MX54KKY on loan from Luxury Coach Travel Limited (Waltons). Their staff informed me that the Bellingham to Kielder service is no longer running due to low passenger numbers.

I also visited Snaiths who still have a small yard on the opposite side of Tyne to PCL at Lemington. There were 3 vehicles present, the yard is clearly visible from the private lane that runs past it’s boundary. I tried looking for Maynard’s new yard at Newburn but could not locate this despite walking the entire length of the industrial estate.

Please could PCL’s fleetlist be updated.

But while it hasn't got a destination display fitted, this vehicle is out in service illegally.

By law, all single deck vehicles allocated to a public service which operates to a published timetable must comply with the PSVAR regulations.

Heading to Hexham tomorrow and I need a photo of PCL Travel's Dart. Which service from Hexham do we think the Dart is more likely to be found on tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday) the 613 to Whittonstall Village or the 885 to Byrness. Judging by the times they don't interwork.

EDIT: doesn't matter anymore, I got my photo.

Was hoping to have a ride on one of them over the holidays but can't find any info on their services.

They operate the following services.

79 Albemarle Barracks - Morpeth (Wednesday only)
613 Whittonstall - Hexham (Tuesday only)
808 Otterburn - Newcastle (Mon - Sat, one journey each way)
815 Ridsdale - Bellingham (Friday only)
882 Hexham - Colwell (Saturday only)
885 Byrness - Hexham (Tuesday only)

Try this link for timetables.

I would also like to sample their efforts but it's difficult with their timetables. Might do Newcastle Airport - Newcastle City Centre one Saturday on the 808.

79 wil probably be the best one to do - maybe Morpeth to Ponteland or Heddon. I'm off soon so will try it next Wednesday I think, so hopefully the dart is allocated. Rest are probably impossible as there is no way of getting back really.
