Scholars service 845 is to be extended from Hamsterley Mill to Chopwell in order to relieve pressure off the 854.

This plan is now not going ahead. After having a word with Weardale (the operator of the 854), Nexus have concluded that the assisstance is not needed as the loadings arent that bad.

For the swap of contracts with Go North East following an incident on the 841.

ALX400 S2 STX and President LK03 NJY are just two of the vehicles allocated. There will be a lot more than that too.

Much better than the ex-london presidents GNE have. I think the first group interior really goes well with the red and white livery on the exterior.

I agree am not a fan of the 51-reg gne ones either, the GNE ones especially Crook's a noise like no other
These ones are subtle

S2 STX hit a pole at the Railway Station this afternoon resulting in LK03 NJY being the only vehicle on the University-Rail Station journeys for the rest of the day.

Whoops.

We had a funny incident with one of these open days back in the early summer. We were popping into Durham as a family and went to Belmont P&R - then got ushered over to the queue for the university bus. Husband was at the front and I couldn't hear why we were being ushered away from the bus we needed to another bus and he didn't think to question why. His response was simply "well this is what I was told to do." Either I'm a really young 45 or Big'un is a more grown up looking 11 than I thought Big Grin

An ALX400 does appear on the 845 on Tuesdays at least. However, as the contracts should stipulate a low floor vehicle, they should never really be allocated at all.

Their proper registrations are all V--- LGC so 2000, the same as all of the GNE ex-London Presidents.

S2 STX - V102 LGC
S4 STX - V211 LGC
S5 STX - V146 LGC

Quite surprised then, especially since the presidents ARE low floor

Certainly unusual to say the least. The seats are rock hard on them though.

No, the seats are pretty much like the standard bus and have seatbelts fitted. I should be on one next Tuesday so ill try and get some interior shots if you want.

They arent, if you are on about the ALX400s. There is no visible ramp on the vehicles and there are no spaces for a wheelchair to go.
