Not unexpected. Thankfully, most (not all) of the newer buildings along the riverbank have vaults under them - usually car parks or something that don't get destroyed by wet. The Radisson has had a few close calls, mind, with water coming up towards the top of the steps.

Fatfield will be dodgy tonight too.

Mind, looking at that photo - where has that bloke been? Emerging from underneath the bridge behind the cordon!

From Carlisle United Facebook page:

Just speaking to club captain Danny Grainger on the team bus. A lot of concern from the lads about all those affected by this weekend's events up in Cumbria and the Borders. Every member of the squad has agreed that they want to help, if at all possible, so they have spoken to manager Keith Curle, and it has been agreed that we will all be available after training on Tuesday to help out in any way possible. Clearing furniture, cleaning, tidying - anything that is needed and that will help. Contact us on media@carlisleunited.co.uk if you think the lads can help you with your situation #oneteam #cufc #community #staypositive

Well earlier, myself, Sam Tillson, Gary Hunter and Scott Atkinson went on a little adventure that took us as far as Stanhope and Alston. Getting there proved difficult, as we had to cross a few 'Fords', one of which was quite swollen.... This is Guessburn near Stocksfield....

Brave or daft?  Wink

It looks like there's still a lot more water to come downstream.

Most certainly brave Tongue

The sign to the far left suggests that the water is no deeper than 1 foot, however it was certainly deeper than that!

Good job you didn't need help like this lot (and many others), cos S&R is based on Humberside now.
You lot would have had a canny wait.

Lucky!!

Where is that at?

You could still go, it might of melted by then

According to the Arriva Live Map earlier there was a 7 running around 105 minutes late! Mind it also said there were buses a few minutes away from Newton Aycliffe Town Centre for around 40 minutes!

Sky can't seem to get any signal, just been a blue screen since I came home an hour ago.

Have you tried switching it off at the wall, leaving it for a couple of minutes then restarting it?
