Go North East: 2015/16 Financial Year Order Predictions

RE: Go North East: 2015/16 Financial Year Order Predictions
(01 Feb 2016, 9:40 am)BusLoverMum wrote Probably the most sensible bit of speculation yet!

Basically, quite old and tired buses will replace the ones that are either even older, more tired or just plain unsuitable.

Fast cats does need an upgrade, but there's nothing in this current batch of cascades that would make a significant difference. I'm also struggling to think of any all single deck brands that could feasibly cascade into it. It's one of the few that hasn't had an overhaul already in the past year. Most of the ones that haven't have buses at least as old and tired.

Another option for GNE could be:

The Scania's could go to Percy Main for the 17 with another 10 remaining at Deptford for 33/33A/39 meaning they can finally brand it.

The rest replacing older buses in the fleet.

RE: Go North East: 2015/16 Financial Year Order Predictions
569 is no good as a spare at crook.

The spare bus has to cover X21s aswell as 18s so it would have to be a decker or Large saloon (Scania etc)

Not exactly because with every GNE order now, Theres a spare included for each branded route so one of the Streetdecks w will take a spare role at Crook
And that will be spare for the X21s, So 569 could transfer to Crook solely for the 18s though its not worth it for such a small operation like Crook

Volvo B7 6038 remains as Crook's spare bus for the X21. There is not a spare StreetDeck, as the PVR has risen to 7 vehicles in line with the new timetable which is set to improve reliability.

Are they not keeping 9119 as a spare?, thought they would have.

Would 9119 not be better?

I suppose, either way, the spare bus will not be to the same specification to the branded vehicles but i would have thought that the younger vehicle would be better.

I'll pass on that haha. Have Wright's not offered a reduced price for it to be purchased yet?

That would be the reduced price... Euro 6 buses are very expensive...

Surely GNE have a spare 100K to purchase 9119, considering they are forking out double that (200K) on brand new vehicles.

citaro5284 has just clearly stated that Michael and S813 FVK could go halfies on 9119: £100k each - a total of £200k.

StreetDecks cost between £215k - £225k each, depending on spec and how many are purchased.

Feel free to write a capex on behalf of Go North East, when the bus would be sat spare most of the day. The branded buses are only going to be out for 12 hours a day, 6 days a week...

What about 6099/100? What will they do when not needed on the 56 if it's their only DD route.

Other routes?, they seem to be out a lot on the 9/20/20A, sometimes even the short 8's from Waterview Park to Sunderland.

Obviously that will change once the 20/20A get the Streetlites.

Clearly, you're an expert on how a company's financial systems operate. I advise you surrender your plethora of financial knowledge to Go North East.

You do understand that all orders and other purchases have to be approved by the Go-Ahead Group? Of course, if you wish to offer your soul for 100 years of servitude, as an alternative means of payment, feel free.

Sorry but I interpreted as the Vehicle is 100K to buy, with Michael and S813 FVK would go halfies at 50K each, maybe we should seek further clarification.

The bus wouldn't depreciate by £100,000 in 12 months.

Difference there is 6099/6100 actually get used on other services when they aren't required on the 56, whereas 9119 would probably just be sat spare in Bishop Auckland Bus Station doing nothing just on the off chance something like a breakdown occurs, quite a bit of cash to spend on something to just sit about.

...and, therefore, one of the most expensive products on the market. It's value simply wouldn't decrease enough over the course of a year. Dan has already stated that Euro 6 vehicles are very expensive, and operators are under more pressure to buy these, and a business works like this; spend as little money as possible...
RE: Go North East: 2015/16 Financial Year Order Predictions
Think people may be missing the point slightly? The vehicle doesn't need to be purchased to become the spare vehicle. Yes it can't be repainted but there is nothing stopping them from using it for that purpose.

But at the same time, Wrightbus are going to want that bus back eventually to sell as dealer stock to a bus operator. This bus presently remaining in the fleet is probably to support the product launch of the new Wright StreetDecks, much like the Optare Solo on loan to Hexham Depot.

The longer that is in use with Go North East, the more it will depreciate in value. I would expect it to depreciate at a rate of £15,000/year, so for Wrightbus to make a return on the vehicle, they will want to sell it fairly soon.
