4989 looked to have been recently repainted red. I imagine 4976 was going for repaint...

Cheers.

I know Dan's been busy etc with work so he hasn't had a chance to update the fleet list... hopefully he has a chance to do it soon.

I see 5213 has been repainted into a light red base livery - a shade of red comparable to the Red Arrows Volvo B9TLs... Smile

That seems random haha, will all of 5214, 5215, 5216, 5217 go the same colour?

Just spotted sun fm branded decker on X36. Can't help but think that is would be slightly more attractive with a decent reliable bus with features on and a quicker journey time that the service may work better. Perhaps an X36 that is quicker and 36 that takes the current route? I know the 36 exists but was merely an example.

It would win my custom even though the metro is cheaper.

Black cats maybe...

Had a 2min ride on 5425 this morning. Instead of being a bag of spanners going from Fencehouses to Rainton, the ride was very smooth. Smooth enough to do my eyeliner.....if i wore any that is   Tongue

Branding also superb. Much nicer than previous brand

Aye, it's on the 20 today. I thought the red paint looked a different shade to the corporate livery.

An incident has closed the A19 near to the Tyne Tunnel southbound, causing delays to service 1 as traffic uses local roads.

Nine now in service - 5422 remains to be the only unbranded example (returned to Saltmeadows earlier today following driver familiarisation) which has not entered service.

Just had my first ride on the top deck of a Castles Streetdeck - great views of the river from the Tyne Bridge!

There should be at least 11 Prince Bishops Scania L94s out in service.

I think the original usp of the X36 was direct links from the estates in the North of Sunderland to Newcastle city centre.

Sampled some of the new StreetLite's on the 20/20A today, I quite like them and they are an improvement on the Solar's previously used which I also rode today. One thing I noticed about the next stop announcements is the audio announcement stating the route and destination, was something like "This is the Prince Bishops 20A to South Shields" although it plays this announcement a few times over the course of a journey. One issue I have with them is the lack of stopping bells on these (plus the other examples already in the fleet), in certain spots you have to walk down the bus just to press a bell. Think I was the first passenger to board 5424 this afternoon after we were swapped onto it from 4972 in Park Lane, can only assume this was it's first journey as there was a mad rush to get some photos of this one! It must have went straight from Chester le Street to Saltmeadows for repaint.

Ye, shame its not quite working out, having been changed a few times:

  1. Started in June 2013 as a hourly service
  2. Changed for the first time in Jan 2014, this time increased to every 30 minutes - Joins Fast Cats brand
  3. Changed for the second time in January 2015, this time the changes are: Half-hourly between Sunderland and Downhill, with the service then continuing hourly to Newcastle
  4. May 2015 - Whole route is decreased to Hourly.
I'm sure i'll of missed something out, but it was off top of my head.

Three stood there as I left on 5424 and one on the roundabout. One was stood next to me when I was there this morning with another one just outside Park Lane.
