Not something I've seen in a while but a young driver is training a older trainee on the 18 this morning...
Normally the other way around.

Indeed, 22014 has been reinstated - to provide a cover vehicle for the 58 for the duration of the Londonderry Bridge closure.

Also on the new fleetcards, 22210/462 and 35187 have been sold for scrap.

I assume you mean the Sunderland 18, I have seen this on the Walkergate 18 with it being a training route (I think)

Non of the Stagecoach North East depots have any of these training routes, it's two weeks with a mentor then off you go.

I didn't know that, clearly though coincidental
RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - June 2016
I know routes have just changed in Sunderland but the 18, since Monday has only had me and about 4 other people on between Springwell shops and Southwick with only 1 person getting picked up in Pennywell.

Not a good start...

Edit:

Also note this could be because its the first 18 of the day going past my house and we aren't all early birds haha

Apparently by a driver on todays 20 was telling me that 39706 has been withdrawn due to engine failure and 39708 transfered in its place.
I wonder if 39706 will be reinstated

Probably not, if it was withdrawn due to engine failure, it won't be needed as Sunderland may gain some Slatyford buses with the E200MMCs coming

Will probably be repaired as its only 8 years old, There's buses much older that need withdrawn before it.

And with it being a MAN, I'm not surprised if has had a engine failure, There engines blow or break in any way shape or form!

Why would Sunderland get any of Slatyford's MAN ALX300s? when they've just sent 4 of them there. Since that's what the E200MMCs are replacing

No thanks.

No SPDs with Stagecoach, Biggest size Dart SNE have is the 10.7m Version, Which is just a normal Dennis Dart SLF.

Sunderland only has 1 reserve that's 34605. Hardly worth sending that to Hartlepool for a MAN that's bigger and uses more fuel than a dart, especially since Sunderland has just lost 6 buses as a way to save money

Apologies, Though I'm sure I seen the Olympian having a run out round here a few weeks or months ago.
It still retains its South Shields Shuttle branding as of last month.

You may have seen it on some special events days such as great north run as they use these buses as "cheering buses" along the route including South Shields. Yes for some bizarre reason it never has lost the branding
