I noticed this when i was on 648 a couple of weeks ago. Was the generic Venture until Whickham though.

Yeah and when you leave Stanley it says something like Next stop Smelters Arms.

Anyone after 6140 - it's just gone through Eighton Banks around 0630 on an X25 heading to Newcastle.

(31 Jul 2016, 10:38 pm)GMitchelhill wrote Actually the way the Go North East fleetnumbering system works, the gap would probably remain as numbers cannot be re-used.

The fleet numbers were not technically used though, as the buses didn't enter service with those fleet numbers.

As such; 624 (YN04 GJU) has been numbered 6134, and 625 (YN04 GJV) has been numbered 6135.

I think one has been done and the other is due to follow today - both red.

Thanks, are they going to Stanley or Chester, it seems logical to have 6134 and 6135 go to Stanley to replace 6024/6030 too, meaning they only have the 4 B9's as a different style decker.

No. One to Chester-le-Street (to replace 3878 which has already been withdrawn) and one to Crook (to replace 6038, which in turn replaces a Trident).

Ah right, least those who use the X21 will get a better bus than 6038.

Edit: Just noticed on the GNE fleet allocation PDF, they don't have 6122-6131 down as "Northern", although it hasn't been updated since 25th July, although sometimes it looks the fleet changes are behind along with some of the colouring for brands and colours.

They used to terminate at Whickham so this'll be why.

Why do some plax/tridents at stanley have just the LED RN on the center back display, like the washington darts, whereas when they [tridents] ran the X30/X31 they had a full display of info? I notice that two of the plax tridents have some rather deformed flip dot displays (microscopic text size to the left of the rear display).

I don't get why it goes around Eastfield Avenue anyway would pick up more passengers going along the route it goes to Wallsend. No one seems to be using the Q3 anyway on the extended section so I can't see it lasting!

It has potential but it hasn't been advertised well and no one is really aware of the service.

Service 33/11 are still nowhere to be found online - have to look through nexus' excuse of a site to locate anything.

It is actually the replacement for 3875.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016
As already stated, the Q3 does have potential, but I think GNE should of advertised it better with maybe leaflet drops, and they could of took a leaf out of Stagecoach's book and offer a free day ticket.

Reliably informed of the following, but don't hold me to it until fully confirmed: 3869 (W179 SCU) has been withdrawn from Chester-le-Street as it's engine has expired, only Trident left in service is 3872 (W182 SCU). 6034 (V334 LGC) has returned from Percy Main and as a result, 3983 (PJ02 PZL) is expected to transfer to Riverside imminently.

Yes, I agree. Arriva did the same for Sapphire in Durham. It's a great way to get people to try the services.

It is due to be collected by Ensign tomorrow.

4904 and 8255 have both been sold for scrap to Trevor Wigley, too. The former was collected from Saltmeadows Road today.

I believe different mediums were used to advertise the changes to service Q3 prior to 31st July - both on the print and e-media platforms.

I'm not sure if it was done in this instance, but free day tickets have been provided in the past when promoting services. Stagecoach actually used the same company as Go North East for their recent leaflet drops on service 22 - perhaps they took a leaf out of Go North East's book in this instance!  Wink
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016
Although already asked what will replace 3866,67 even though there is 4 month i dont know weather the following could happen
4x new buses for 327 this will allow 3866,67 to be withdrawn and 3890,1 to replace plaxton presidents.
2x omnidekkas allowing 3876,7 to be withdrawn
Im not sure if GNE have a plan for them but i think its a shame they dont meet dda.
Could GNE make them DDA complaint alike the B10S?
