What's wrong with the livery design used at Blyth on the X10/X11? I much prefer that to the version displayed on 7427. Arriva North East: 7617 / NK61EBF by Daniel Graham, on Flickr |

I agree the livery on 7617 does look better the problem with 7427 is the route information is too far towards the rear of the bus. Not only was the route information less easy on the eye but putting the details next to the wheel arch means it will get covered in dirt spray from the wheels. It might help deliver a consistent branding if Arriva used a quality check list and diagram for applying branding similar to those used by other operators. |

Yes, and we are fast approaching 'black bus' season! Launch a new brand and have a substantial amount of the route information covered by muck and dirt. I am really surprised that there are so many variations of the MAX livery. Wasn't it produced by Best Impressions? I know they provide branding guides as part of their service... |

The issue is that response shouldn't be required, and wheelchair users should be able to board buses. Obviously a broken ramp is slightly different (provided it was checked and worked on a first use inspection, and the defect happened in service), but the reports on here and elsewhere indicate that GNE have been knowingly sending out vehicles that cannot safely board wheelchair users at various bus stations, due to the centre door position of the ramp.

Think there is a page where it gives you the X21 and X22 times between Peterlee and Sedgefield in the back of the leaflet. |

I know they provide branding guides as part of their service... For a couple of months, Arriva have been managing the Sapphire and MAX brands "in house", instead of Best Impressions. So, the new crappy 'MAX From Arriva a DB company' logo is being used on interior branding and promotional stuff. Due to the brand management being moved "in house" the fonts have had to change too, as I believe Best Impressions owned the rights to the original fonts used on the brands. The new font has already been implemented in the recent Sapphire X21/X22 timetable. Also, the red "space bar" thing with the frequency is "in house" too, and has also been implemented on the rear windows of the X16 Pulsars. It really does look very poor indeed. |

Both really a trial on Stagecoach's part, although the 1855 to Hexham was Arriva operated originally with Stagecoach connection to Carlisle. |

(10 Nov 2016, 3:13 pm)Michael wrote Not keen on the branding though, to boring for me. I don't mind this branding myself, at least it is bright and reasonably eye catching. The other plus is that the OmniCity's have finally been given some TLC, the leather seats were looking quite worn the last time I was one, also they were incredibly slippy, especially the ones that were on a bit of a slant. |

(10 Nov 2016, 3:13 pm)Michael wrote Not keen on the branding though, to boring for me. I find it subtle rather than boring. However, I imagine it was quite difficult to find a brand and livery that was operator neutral, with it being a joint service. Too much of one colour and its biased to one operator. Too much of one font and it leans to the other. 'Illegitimis non carborundum'

Guessing that's why they have all the major settlements on the route mentioned above the window. To be fair though (and I'm not mentioning any brands or operators), how many brands in use across the region are named after the area they operate in? Percentage wise, it will be minimum. At least this one has some links to its operating area in the brand-name. 'Illegitimis non carborundum'

Stagecoach branded their vehicles Cross Country for many years on the Plaxton Premieres and Jonckheere Modulos, so at least it's a bit more specific this time around....! |

Looking at the changes to the 35, will this mean the X21 being switched to depart Newcastle at xx:15 and X22 switched to depart Newcastle at xx:45 during the evenings and on Sundays? Will be far more convenient for passengers as the areas that the X21 serve have traditionally been the strong point over the years including former guises such as the X31/X32. Would also be a good move for users of the 35 coming home from Morpeth. Nothing confirmed yet but very likely judging by the information on the 35. |
