A few comments about the lack of service in Guide Post have cropped up. Don't know whether it's aimed at the morning journeys on the X22 (no major changes) or the fact that the evening / Sunday buses have been pushed back to xx:45 to accommodate the more popular X21 + people who use the 35 in Morpeth where departures have been brought forward for more convenience.

The short X14s are being coupled to the 33 as far as I'm aware, but that's just a guess.

The 52 from Newcastle to Newbiggin in an evening runs off X14A, so should be a MAX Enviro400.

Not as busy as the X22 - it only runs every 2 hours, which must people off, given that it's a delay prone route, and there is no alternative that can be used entirely on an arriva ticket, so not really worth the risk. I haven't caught it since the introduction of the £1 child fares on most GNE routes, but they can't have helped it, since at least half of the bus passengers to the Metrocentre tend to be kids, on a Saturday.

This news doesn't surprise me, given that there is going to be a completely different X24 running to DBS from Horden, soon.

An having 2 services serving the same bus station with the same number, but quite clearly having nothing to do with each other is just plain bonkers. They even changed the x1 because there was another in the region and their paths didn't even cross.

All of about 3 people appeared to have arrived at the metrocentre on 1479, early this afternoon. That is not a successful bus service!

The Teesside Feburary Timetables are now both on-line at Connect Tees Valley and in paper form in the Teesside Travel Shops. As such, the non-Sapphire workings on the 5/5a are as followed:

AM: 0730 5a from Hollybush Hotel to Middlesbrough
PM: 1647 and 1727 5a from Middlesbrough to Skelton Hollybush Estate

One interesting inclusion on the 5/5a timetable is that of the peak time X93 departures from Middlesbrough on the afternoon as well as the first inbound X93 on a morning.

I agree there.

There will be two spare Sapphires rather than one now unless they lose one elsewhere.

Yes, there is a spare Streetlite - and of the two, the 1647 from Middlesbrough is the more likely to be allocated the spare as it runs off a 27 that also does both 805 trips.

A more interesting development from Monday is the transfer of the afternoon peak X12 from Durham at 1715 back to Stockton.
