Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - June 2017

RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - June 2017
Smart Accessories from ADL is a combination of electric cooling fans software to control and harvest electrical energy and compressed air when the vehicle is coasting and decelerating which reduces the parasitic load on the engine, providing improved fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions.

With the 38 and 61 getting the "Black Cats" Scania's, where will the 6 Citaro's off the 36 end up?, really the 9 gain 2 Citaro's to make it fully Citaro or will that be downgraded too?

I'm glad Deptford are losing the Versa's.......

Only 2 unbranded services will remain at Deptford soon, the 9 and the X36 which is getting withdrawn soon, makes sense for the 9 to become branded "Black Cats" too.

It would have been better if GNE got ADL E200 same size as stagecoach. For it to compare to Vera's, Citaro's & Scaina's L94. Instead of 8.8m that would be a better choice in long run.

Wasn't there something mentioned about them ending up on the X84/5. The PVR is expected to increase with the extension to Newbrough so that would work - PVR of 5 and a spare. Perhaps the 5 buses from the X84/5 will end up Black Cats for the 9 - there would be one spare left over from the 61 and 38 as the PVR for these are 5 and 1, a total of 6, but there are 7 Black Cats Solars at Deptford...so that would meet the PVR of 6.

Could do with something bigger on the indiGo services I think - 40/41 rarely has any seats left through the day when going to Hadrian Park/Wallsend via High Farm, and the 42/42A is the same between Wallsend and Asda.

I think if the 9 was to join the Black Cats, they would be branding it for the sake of branding it, not mentioning the fact that the service goes even further outside of the Sunderland Saver boundaries than the 2/2A and 238.

The 61 also goes quite far out of the Sunderland saver zone too but that's also becoming "Black Cats".

Then that service should not fall under the 'Black Cats' brand in my opinion.

Obviously I do not know the thought process behind the inclusion of the service in the brand but it is obvious to me that the Sunderland Saver tickets advertised on the side of the buses is not it.

They won't be Volvo as, apart from the hybrid, they do not offer a Low Carbon certified bus.

And Happy 'We bought Omnicities for the Angel' 10 Year Anniversary to you too ?

It shouldn't, but it would be better to include the 9 in the brand as it passes the SOL (in some sort), plus then every service is branded at Deptford by the end of July, Tongue

Ok thanks

You, would have thought for the home screen on the go north east website they would have taken a picture of a merc with the badge the right way, or is it just me?

690 is now Black Cats

Anymore Streetlites arrived?

Just noticed on the Go North East site, that the 85 and 86 is still down as Go North East and not Indigo..

681, 689 and 690 all received Black Cats branding yesterday.

5467 received Black Cats branding on Tuesday, and 5464 received Black Cats branding today - four here now (5463/64/66/67). 5465 and 5469 are both at Heysham Docks and may be delivered tomorrow, along with the final Citylink57 Mercedes Citaro (5297).

Thanks for the update Dan, they seem to be getting through the Citaro's quick.

Hopefully Go North East have decided to change the colour of the Crusader brand base, so it's not silver... i liked the Maroon base livery.

Might be a while before they're done, once the Crusader Citaro's are finished, no more Citaro's are planned to get refurbished (well atm).

I thought Go North East would of wanted to get the Citaro's complete first before moving to the Omnicities.

Nothing major here but 3887 appears to have had its bottom half repainted. Looked very shiny with no evidence of the 'Northern' vinyls except from above the doors.

I noticed. It must have been passing my shop when I wasn't looking. Though saying that it doesn't stand out as much as the pink Solos do. Would track it down this evening, but one I cannot be arsed, secondly my car is low on fuel and I have no intention on filling it until Sunday for when I go to Durham.
