(08 Nov 2017, 12:10 pm)Citaro5326 Omnicity 5248 has caught fire and is completely gone , no ones injured thankfully

Is it me or have bus fires been an unusually more frequent occurrence at GNE recently. What's more odd is that it spans across different vehicle types. Off the top of my head that's 5233, 8303 and now 5248. Exactly 4 months to the day when 5233 went up in flames too!

Wasn't the Percy Main one a turbo blowing rather than an actual fire.

Avoidence Failed.

Sure, they could probably reuse the headlights and maybe the nearside wing mirror if it isn't too melted.

(05 Nov 2017, 7:22 pm)park5354 Citylink Versa, according to grapevine/chinese whispers etc !!!!!

Could it be possible that 5328-5335 end up allocated to the 58 joining the 49 as being a sort of branded corporate livery route? This would allow 5377-81 to move to Chester-le-Street for the Waggonway.

Personally I would then like to see 5382-89 (and 5390 as a spare) end up at Deptford for the 35 keeping in line with the S.i.D.i Sunderland 36 Versa's. In turn when it comes to refurbishing the Versa's next year I'd like to see 8301 join the Lambton Worm (as I believe an L94 is allocated in place of one of the Versa's). Then 8316-8 go Green Quaylink and 8326-28 go Purple Quaylink to keep fleet numbers consecutive.

That would allow 5305-9 and 5323-27 along with the Omnicities off the Coaster to be allocated to any out of the Green Arrows, Blue Arrows, the Loop, Black Cats, the 9 or maybe even the 19 (if these aren't allocated to the 9 then 6 L94s displaced from the others would then have to move to Deptford instead).

Toon Link Omnis now have WiFi Symbols and the 'Journeys taken care of slogan' as discussed at the back end of last month. The front ones don't look as bad as I was expecting:

Any idea when the Omnidekkas are planned to have their WiFi kits fitted?

I saw a couple of Blaydon Racer 12’s this evening both showing large destination - one heading to Winlaton the other heading for Newcastle, and from I could see no via points.

One way trip to Alpha it's gone, with the prospect of VOSA inspection.
Front page of tomorrow's Northern Echo too.

I like this idea for people with poor sight. Maybe they could make it better by having the dest big then it could switch to the main via points aswell.

Of course if you driver went to neutral it would be more comfortable.

Is there any reason why bus drivers don't come out of drive into neutral?

6133 has had its Metro Radio branding altered slightly. 'Your Music, Your Life' has been replaced with something along the lines of 'All the Biggest Hits, All Day Long' which I believe is their new slogan. It has also gained Go North East's new 'Journeys taken care of' slogan.

No sign of a tagline on 708 yet either.
