I wonder if all Redcar drivers got 15-20 mins on driving 4516?!

The X1 buses are still based at Garnetts depot as far as I know.

Why are they based at Garnetts?

They are indeed still based at garnetts. Have a trip down on a Sunday and you'll see Arriva vehicles parked up there. They've been based there ever since Bishop Auckland depot closed. Same situation in Northumberland where Arriva keep vehicles at Rothbury motors yard ever since Alnwick garage closed.

Edit: one here of it on the 2. Think there's one of it on the 26, too

Not the original new R reg batch these were second hand imports from Arriva Midlands

It is cost effective to use Garnetts however management have threatened to return buses to Darlington when in dispute with drivers and recently tried to take their paid meal breaks and replace them with new recruits who do not enjoy the same conditions of service

Supposedly 1590-1594 are "Bishop" Buses. The Bishop rota is None Stop X1s. They even have a supervisor in Bishop office overseeing matters.

All bishop drivers have to be specially trained to work at Garnetts due to some of the security features of the depot.

As for 4516 no they didn't because Redcar have had B10BLEs before technically Darlington have never had Streetlites on paper

The only real thing that a driver needs to know is the correct starting procedure which is a safeguard to prevent the bus being stolen similar to how the Daf coaches had a secret button that had to be held in as you started the bus When 1590 to 94 arrived before using them the revenue inspectors showed us the controls and then we drove them from Bishop bus station out to Toronto Lodge roundabout and back

A few things

Do you have the full list of regs and numbers of the new wright Streetlite or anyone else?
Does anyone know if all the Optare Tempos have been returned to Yorkshire as I’ve seen pictures of 1308&1311 in Yorkshire?
Also does anyone have a full list of repainted buses? So far I know of 1923,1924,2824,2827,2834,4712.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have heard that commanders 1401 - 1403 will be replaced at Blyth by some 61 plate Darlington Pulsars. Does anyone know if this is true? and what is happening to the commanders?

Presumably repairs, it was involved in a fairly significant collision in which the entire rear end of the bus is pretty messed up a few months ago.

It would be a pretty good assumption to expect this to eventually come back in the new livery - that is of course, it can be repaired! Dont know much about Gas...

Doesn’t look like it’s been touched yet actually, and it would be nice to see it come back in new livery, May as well kill two birds with one stone as the saying goes

1604,1605,1606 all been delivered got its branding for 1/5/5A

NK67EGC is another to have been delivered, at some point before Saturday gone.

Bus Lists on the Web lists the following:
  • 1602 - NK67EDF
  • 1603 - NK67EDJ
  • 1604 - NK67EDL
  • 1605 - NK67EDO
  • 1606 - NK67EDP
  • 1607 - NK67EDR
  • 1608 - NK67EDU
  • 1609 - NK67EDV
  • 1610 - NK67EDZ
  • 1611 - NK67EEA
However, I'm not entirely sure how accurate this is. It would be strange for NK67EDX to be allocated fleet number 1612 up over, when all of the other fleet numbers are allocated in registration order (though 1611 can definitely be confirmed as NK67EEA).

One of the new streetlites was on display at bishop Auckland, this morning. Didn't bother to go check it out because the pavements were lethal in the snow.

1609 I believe! Stocktons 1924 is on publicity duties tomorrow promoting service 8 somewhere. Also at Stockton 1468 is at Gardiners getting a new front end after an accident in Middlesbrough on Saturday.

BLOTW is a bit off, they should be;
1610 is NK67EDX
1611 is NK67EEA
1612 is NK67EGC
1613 is NK67EGD
1614 is NK67EGE

If true, hopefully they'll be the same length as all other E400s in the fleet, bar the current MMCs. The same engine and gearbox set up as 7522-33 would be ideal.
RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - February 2018
Permeant transfer from what I’ve been told - although no Cadets to be withdrawn yet as 1472 is off for fitting of a new experimental exhaust system. Once 1472 returns, 1428 will replace a Cadet
RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - February 2018
Stockton should have dropped 1914 already, as that is not part of their official allocation

Stockton still only recieve Pulsars to replace 1916, 1917, 1920 and 1922.

1915 effectively drops out this weekend when the PVR of Service 27A/8 drops by 1.

So, come end of March any Cadets still running will not be retested.

Ex Sainsbury's MPD 1759 back at Redcar today. Sat on the back fence with it's front panel missing.
