Think Moorsbus started on May Day last year, unsure why they have reverted to starting to towards the end of May again this year, mind the weather forecast for this weekend isn't exactly fantastic if they were to start this weekend
At least the Arriva DalesBus 830 has (arguably) better connections this year as last year all you could connect with was the 833 at Ingleton which ran to Gisburn Forest and pretty much all you had time to do there was get a cuppa whereas this year, passengers from this neck of the woods can visit Settle once again which was something you couldn't do last year which caused some upset, was also some comments last year about the late start in the morning and sure enough, almost identical times again this year, most of these comments I picked up from overhearing discussions between passengers on the one Sunday I rode DalesBus last year.
There's a 1B that arrives in Darlington at 23:16, so I would have thought that it would be more likely to that bus that does the 23:20 trip.
I think that regardless of the weather, it should still run. The natural exposure of the service will have the potential to raise awareness of the service to visitors and tourists, who will be visiting and staying in the area regardless of weather. I think it will be far more effective than a poster or leaflet.
It's a mobile advert, that has the potential to reach a far bigger audience.
It wasn't too long ago, that I saw a a Solo sitting in Northallerton, blinded up for Hawes.
Not a journey I fancy making in its entirity, but one that I remember seeing and thinking that it could be useful for exploring later in the year.
The same applies to those visiting Hadrians Wall over the last few months and who aren't too familiar with services in the services up there.
Seeing a bus trundling around could have prompted them to return over the long Easter weekend.
Not seeing it on the other hand...
Just to keep it relevant to ANE. I like the moors and have been working out how to make best use of the Esk Valley line, ANE services, public footpaths and the pubs in the area.
The Moorsbus service is a welcome addition. Ideal for this weekend and early May bank holiday.
Particularly when you take the 95 in to account and it's running times.
What I said about the Hawes service and the Hadrian Wall service, still applies to the ANE services.
Particularly in rural areas.
