What services were these again?

These were the ones that were due to finish in July according to previous posts:

Service 37 (Weekday Peak Times)
1x low-floor Euro 4 bus with a minimum capacity of 36
Contract period: 23/07/2017 - 21/07/2018

Service 37/73 (Mon-Sat daytime)
3x low-floor Euro 4 buses with a minimum capacity of 49
Contract period: 23/07/2017 - 21/07/2018

Services 92, 83A, 927, 937, 68 and 93A (Mon-Sat daytime)
1x low-floor Euro 4 bus with a minimum capacity of 36
Maximum vehicle length 8.9m
Contract period: 23/07/2017 - 21/07/2018

Services 515/558 (Daily)
2x Euro 4 buses with a minimum capacity of 49
Contract period: 23/07/2017 - 21/07/2018

Service 643 (Mon-Sat daytime)
1x low-floor Euro 4 bus with a minimum capacity of 16
Maximum vehicle length 8.0m
Contract period: 23/07/2017 - 21/07/2018

Services R3/R4/R6 (Daily)
3x Euro 4 buses with a minimum capacity of 23
Maximum vehicle length 9.0m
Contract period: 23/07/2017 - 21/07/2018

But I'd imagine evening/sunday secured journeys would be included hence Stagecoach being awarded some, as I can't imagine them bidding for daytime services.

Who knows who has gained these routes as we know GCT have gained the 643 back.

Thanks Tom.

Hoping the 37/73 has been won by Go North East or Stagecoach, hopefully then could use my smartzone pass!

Go North East have ran it really well since it was launched, that might help them retain it.

Wonder if new buses will be part of the contract?, as the current hybrids are 6/7 years old.

Can anyone confirm?

Dan confirmed both boards were going to GNE on upcoming service changes. Dunno if the date's been pushed forward though.

Any news on the tenders commencing next month?
So far we know...
643 - Back to Gateshead Central
R5 and 941 to Compass...
23/90/933 to Go North East

Anybody know what other routes have been won, and who by?

I don't think there was much else out to tender this time, quite a lot of contracts got a one year extension.

Not sure that L&G Coaches are still going to do the two contracts they were initially awarded - believe Nexus may be trying to source an alternative operator to do these, although unlikely to be Go North East given the large volume they've already been awarded...

As it has been discussed elsewhere now since the results came out, Go North East have been awarded over 70 of the 90-odd Miscellaneous Works contracts. Big losses to JH Coaches and Kingsley's Coaches, and unsurprisingly, Nightingales Coaches. A-Line have also lost their share of Miscellaneous Works, appreciating they didn't have many to begin with. The interesting one is Stagecoach North East's award - not many but interesting nevertheless to see them dipping into the scholars scene again, after some years of not partaking in it. Perhaps wishing to follow in the footsteps of Go North East and have a small fleet of buses available for use on Special Events on a weekend?

Wouldn't be surprised to see them keep some, if not all of the ex London deckers then, no doubt they'll be repainted now?

Will we see the Vykings replaced now, because the Gemini's and Presidents are younger?

If 34 ex-London Volvo B7s are expected to join the fleet for Tall Ships, there's still a lot more more buses required to get that figure up to somewhere in the region of 70... I can't see Go North East disposing of any more double-deck buses for the foreseeable future.

I thought most worked from other services, so the number would of been lower.

They also have the longer Omnidekka's to consider, although they should replace the shorter versions in the fleet so they can replace the current Presidents to the special fleet too.

Some of them will be able to interwork with Go North East's normal commercial services, but not all, and of course Go North East operate some of these contracts already so it isn't a PVR increase of 70.

That said, there'll still be a large number of buses required for September, and I'd suggest anything coming into the fleet for Tall Ships will now be retained...

Any chance they'll be repainted in to the Go North East livery?, just to smarten them up.

So the special fleet will be:

10 Vykings
41? Gemini's/presidents

And probables the current presidents in the Go North East fleet (replaced by the Omnidekka's)

Be intresting to see what depot gets what.

Either end of a route like the 22 lends itself to a board dropping in and out. Plenty scope to run peaks off a scholars board.
Must admit to thinking similar with something on South Tyneside.

Maybe the reported group and divisional financial woes, has forced their hand?
