The roadworks in Birtley have started again by the War Memorial. Causing a lot of disruption

(02 Dec 2013, 10:05 pm)BJ10VUS wrote The Wellington Street, Gateshead bridgeworks have, as you will be aware, now over-run, by a considerable number of weeks.Typical Network Rail contract over-run , remember how many times they put back the completion date when they closed the High Level Bridge. Network Rail seem to under estimate the scope of work on these jobs allowing their contractors to apply multiple variation orders resulting in the schemes failing on time and budget delivery.
Following dialogue with Gateshead Council, we have now been advised that these works will be removed by Friday 20th December 2013 and will not be reinstated after the Christmas and New Year period.
Consequently, all services operating between Gateshead and Newcastle will return to normal route via Hills Street as soon as the bridge works have been removed.

My key card didn't work yesterday, insisted driver took the digits (as per GNE instructions) and he blank out refused saying it wasn't his problem and I had to fork out £2.60 from Gateshead to the Fell. Not impressed.

It worked fine on the X21 so obviously a defective reader

If I had a Driving Licence/Public Service Vehicle Licence and had the £10,000 to go with it, I would Buy one Tomorrow.

(03 Dec 2013, 4:00 pm)cbma06 wrote GNE sold a 52 reg dart, and Peterlee running about with X reg and 51 reg mpd's, unless the ex consett venture buses be replacing the crappy east durham ones, as was mentioned in earlier posts, so GNE doesn't have to paint them as there are already in yellow and GNE can just slap a east durham sticker on the side of the bus lol
