I would however like to see the 50 receive brand new buses, the 5 on the other hand I think would cope with a Solo SR which would mean the interworking would have to be removed.

5 is too busy for a solo SR.

It's quite busy between Boldon and South Shields. And I use it daily.

I would of expected the citarios from the 4 to be sent to deptford for the 35 if the 4 got investment , and all spare citarios from Washington sent to other depots which have them already

Would imagine the other two will be at Washington and Stanley.

OAW is the example at Stanley.

Delivered earlier today, and will be allocated to service 4 for two weeks. Brand new, straight out of the factory (only PDI'd on Thursday gone). Registration mark YX68OXA.

Bog standard run-of-the-mill no-thrills E200MMC. It's 9.625m in length, so slightly bigger than a Solo. Not ideal in terms of capacity but all ADL had available.

Yes, but only four will be withdrawn from the Coaching Unit as the PVR increased by 1 last year.

Notice that fleet numbers are generally not re-used but this uses a 9xxx series number used when a batch of Leyland Olympians were on loan from Ensign in c2006.  In this case 9079 (C79CHM).

Go North East's electronic records in back-office systems unfortunately don't go that far back, which is why it's been allocated that fleet number.

Alas; it's becoming increasingly difficult to avoid re-using the fleet numbers - the 9xxx series fleet numbers were very sporadically allocated in years gone by and the acquisition of OK Motor Services made things even more messy back in the '90s. Electronic records of historic fleet numbers like this are very hard to come by (generally speaking only being available on paper!)

The only photo I can find of a Cxx CHM Olympian in Go North East's fleet is below - this one being 9050. Presumably the batch were acquired in/around August 2005 due to contract awards from the new academic year? Goes to show how standards have improved since then; with 6901 - 6941 all being fitted with electronic LED destination displays (for those that weren't already), CCTV, radio systems, low bridge warning devices, etc.

The use of fleet number 9079 back in 2006 for the Leyland Olympian you refer to was the second time 9079 had been allocated. A paper record that was sent to me earlier noted that, in April 1995, East Lancs bodied Leyland Leopard LBO79X was re-numbered as 9079 on acquisition from OK Motor Services. So this will actually be the third reincarnation of 9079 now..!

I think it was that one which gave up the ghost one evening on the A1 (M) near Durham.
Managed to make it to the hard shoulder, but was there a good while.

GNE buses are now appearing on the bustimes.org website live tracking map from what looks like today (12/02/19). This map displays service no. but by touching this the Fleet ID can be seen.
See:
https://bustimes.org/vehicles
A list of vehicles tracked so far is:
https://bustimes.org/operators/go-north-east/vehicles
The history of each bus tracked can be seen but only to when first tracked.
This website has increased the number of bus companies for which the buses are tracked significantly over the past few weeks and is continuing to increase the number.

I didn't know whether it was out or not so I chanced my arm of waiting for it at Concord, I got there at 12:50 so didn't have long to wait, done a short hop to The Galleries to which I found the fabric seats to be very comfortable and the E200 to be quite nippy compared to the example Stagecoach have, i'll put that to engine type as it did sound different.

I then caught up with 9079 again later in the afternoon - https://www.flickr.com/photos/adammalark...ed-public/
