Think it will just be there till required back at Hexham, 709 will no longer be needed at Percy Main after Sunday with the withdrawal of the K3. Id have a guess  648 will probably transfer over to Stanley at the weekend with the loss of the 333 ready for the new V11 service.

Unless the plan has changed the v11 will use a mix of double deckers in between scholars and the bus from the Tesco runs after it comes off there and it’s finishing time of 17:42

I got a photo of it just before it went under the canopy, the staff in the civic the centre told me what time the bus was due back while I was getting photos of the trophies.

Here is 709 approaching the Civic Centre on Day 1 of it's tour - https://www.flickr.com/photos/adammalark...ed-public/

709 is being used daily for the next three weeks to transport the trophies, staff, volunteers and the Newcastle Falcon’s official mascot Stephen the Seahorse to events between Friday 22 March and 14 April 2019.

Therefore 709 should not see use in public service, I spoke to the driver who is going to doing the tour and he has to pick up the trophies along with those mentioned above from the Falcons Stadium at Kingston Park each morning, take them to the events and then take them back in the afternoon.

After the tour is completed it could go anywhere with the loss of Nexus contracts at Percy Main due to take affect.

635 has been allocated to the W2 since Wednesday, however it will probably be allocated tomorrow and it will most likely go where it is next required on sunday when the K3 is withdrawn and 333 is lost to GCT with 1 other solo going to their next required depot with another going else where when 709 returned however 2 corp solos could go on sunday with 635 staying put at percy main for the W2 returns. However this is just a prediction of what may happen on sunday.

Little prediction here, 681/689 and 690 go to Washington for the Indigo's seeing use on the 85/86 allowing the 701/702/703 to go to Deptford for the 33's.

Washington then get a further to corporate livery Solo SR's from Percy Main to displace 704/705 to Percy Main for the Whitley Bay locals.

709 once it completes it tour of the region for the Rugby then transfers to Chester-Le-Street or Stanley, can't remember which operates the 701/2/3 around Chester again making a corporate Solo SR available to go elsewhere.

It would be a fair old downgrade for the 33, to put lower spec Solos (poorer seats, no Next Stop Announcements) on it from Washington.

It's quite important that this service retains the Next Stop Announcement feature as there's a number of blind bus users in The Docks area that rely on this service.

717 is required at Stanley to be a spare Euro 6 small Solo for the Durham Cathedral contract. It is only allocated to the Chester-le-Street Town Service contract when neither of the two white Solos are VOR. 709 is not Euro 6 therefore would not be suitable.

Actually, no one on here, predicted the 11 single deckers could all be Solo's and not full size deckers.... Can you confirm if the single deckers will be mini buses or full size single buses or a mixture?

So does that mean GNE are retaining the daytime Nexus contract for the Docks area then from May?

The daytime service is commercially-operated by Go North East (and has been since the introduction of the 33 via The Docks). This is why Stagecoach withdrew their Nexus-secured 5/5A services at the time. It's only the evening journeys, that run as service 8, which are secured by Nexus.

Any news on the contract tenders for May?

Ah my mistake I thought the daytime service through the Docks was secured during the day too.

They've not yet been awarded to my knowledge.

Today is one of the days where it isn't required. Of the three weeks, it's only required for 16 days of the tour.

Thanks Dan, it seems to be taking a while, wonder if that indicates that the current contracts will just be ran by current companies.
