The first set will go from w/c 20 May, after the service changes take place on 19 May.

How many will get withdrawn?

I'm guessing the Blue Arrow Omnicties will replace them at Riverside (possibly on Green Arrow?). I really can't see Percy Main keeping Omnicities for a service with PVR of 4.

Have a feeling the 11/19 will be Solo operated, but who knows haha

Confirmed green arrows getting 4 mercs when new E2OOs arrive for that. Think the leftover Bishops streetlites will take over 11/19

Theres only going to be 3 or 4 spare Prince Bishops streetlites once the changes take place, i think these will end up on the 33/33A as they're losing the Solo's.

Explains lack of repaint on those mercs
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - May 2019
I guess it could work like this:

637, 638 and 639 transfer to Percy Main due to loss of 516, and PVR reduction of 237/238.

648-652 allocated to 40/41 (I think it has PVR of 5?)

653/654 transfer to Peterlee - 718-720 to Percy Main (less spares required due to loss of X6/X7)

672-678 transfer to Deptford for X6/X7/X20 - 691-694 transfer to Percy Main, allocated to the 19 (PVR 4)

679, 680, 681, 689 and 690 move to Washington, releases 701-705. These can be allocated to the 11, with 1 spare. (PVR 4) - Omnicities transfer to Riverside.

709 allocated to W2 as present.

718/19 allocated to W1/W1A. (720 spare for W1/W1A/W2)

625, 627, 631, 632, 637, 638, 639 724, 725 (withdrawal of 18) are left for the 42/42A

The Eclipses are kept for spares for Misc services etc. I don't want to loose all of the newer Solos on the indiGo North Tyne, but it seems pretty inevitable.

I've probably done something wrong but it seems to work to get Percy Main fully Solo operated. I dont think they would put Streetlites on the 11.

There's also the Versas from the 36 which could allow more Scanias to be withdrawn. Also, since the 18 is being withdrawn, could 724/725 transfer to Chester for the 71 to allow more Versas to withdraw more Scanias?

Hopefully the Green Arrow brand is dropped, if they get the Mercs.

Or another way to look at it, will Versas be completely removed from Chester? The Omnicities transfer to Chester le Street to operate the 28/28A, 34 etc.

Chester Versas could go to Deptford for the 35. Also, I'm pretty sure the 11 will need full sized single deck buses.

The Omnicities are barely half full these days at most points.

Honestly so are many other buses these days, hence why we are seeing cuts.

Shame, i do hope the Omnicities come to Deptford in the future.

Could the Blue Arrow Omnis go to Consett, releasing 5481 - 5485 to Percy Main allowing 4978 - 4982 to get withdrawn?

If that is the case wouldn't you just keep the Omnicities at percy main, what's the point in moving Citaros there?

So that the X30 can regain it's OmniCity allocation...

Why does the X30 need to re-gain an allocation of OmniCitys? Surely the previous allocation of OmniCitys were removed from this service for a reason.

Drivers are more than happy with the mercs, less rattles, fast & warm. Even passengers commenting on how nicer they are. Only the engineers who don’t enjoy working on them!!

Just seen an example of an 'allocation correction' on the map. 6132 doing the 19:15 309 to Blyth was swapped over with 6113 in New York. Presumably this will be due to that particular board running until later tonight.

19:15 is usually coming off a scholars and that is its last run of the day

Not anymore. The old 19.20 used to be a misc working but the 19.15 Haymarket departure once in Blyth at 20.15 then forms the 20.40 Blyth to Newcastle then the 21.45 Newcastle to Blyth departure before heading back to the depot. I'd imagine the evening workings and maybe frequency will change again at somepoint with Arriva now moving the evening 308s to xx:12 and xx:42.

That's one of the current Wear Xpress solos in for repaint too. From zooming in it looks to be 691.

Pity the brand has been designed by Best Impressions though. What is wrong with using Beacon?

Assuming Cobalt & Coast was designed by Beacon, looking at that compared to XLines should tell you why it's been designed by Best Impressions...

I don't follow...

If anything, I would say any criticism of brands should be directed more at the client, rather than the design agency.

If the company chooses to accept the design put forward then it must satisfy their demands set out in the brief. If not then they would be more than welcome to reject it and put forward amendment suggestions. It's very much a puppet on a string scenario.

Beacon have been able to meet GNE's requirements for years (and obviously did with Cobalt & Coast [I do believe they designed it, but happy to be corrected])...what has changed?

The Cobalt & Coast was very much a work of the Managing Director, just made up by Beacon...
