Just out of curiosity why did go north east not go with the cameras in the drivers cab instead of wing mirrors on the new E200's?

I remember seeing on Twitter that MG said it was down to the cost. I'd imagine it would be considerably more expensive to install the cameras than just mirrors (although the BOM cost is probably not that much, but the development cost must have been quite high)

RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2019
Just read on Twitter that the new E200's have coat/bag hangers... interesting move, what does people think of this idea?, i think its daft, its just not needed in my opinion.... does anyone else in the UK offer this perk?

I think they would be a good idea if they were as useful as they sound! In reality it's just a small hook on the back of the seat in front, so you might as well just have it on your lap by the time it hangs!

RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2019

The coat/bag hooks are a standard feature on the Kiel Ligeiro, can be found on Mellor Stratas. They're just 2 plastic hooks mounted inbetween the double seat and can rotate to bring it out further to put a larger bag on etc. They're probably rather easy to snap off, if they're the same ones on these E200MMCs.

Can't see why a service like the 97 would have them to be fair.

It's not as if punters are going to be sitting a good while on them.

On a longer distance service - aye, I can see the benefits of the feature.

Style over substance me thinks.

I believe the hook they're referring to is the small hook that you can see underneath the stop button.

Might help make up the numbers on the X30 I guess, on the provision that it is low height. I wouldn't be too surprised if 794 transfers over too.

These are ones which have arrived so far:

5489 (NK69 FBA)
5490 (NK69 FBB)
5492 (NK69 FBD)
5494 (NK69 FBF)
5495 (NK69 FBG)

5497 is NK69 FBL according to the GNE official fleet list

Did 5490/92 have branding?, because looking at the buses tax: 5490 (NK69 FBB), 5492 (NK69 FBD) both now have road tax

When the E200's enter service, they'll probables replace the Versa's at Riverside but i do wonder if they'll end up on the Loop, so then Riverside is cleared of Scania's and Depot standardisation has taking place.

6107 having silencer issues on the NSAs. Keeps repeating this is the cobalt & coast 309 to Newcastle when the doors are open and again when they close. I'm on it now and it's the only one with that issue as far as I'm aware.

Several 'recognised colleges' have reached an agreement so that their id is accepted.

Guessing that means school 6th forms and smaller colleges haven't reached agreement and passports are still required to travel for the cheaper fare...

Or the layout of the ID cards of those school 6th forms and smaller colleges don't meet the criteria GNE are looking for - my 6th form ID card didn't have my date of birth printed on.

Quite possibly.

Not sure it is up to those other colleges or 6th forms to adapt their id to suit the bus operators demands though.

I've got no recollection whether my college even had the need for id, never mind whether it had a dob on.

Living in T&W at the time, the TeenTravel ticket was go to option and one that the PTE really pushed. The flexibility to purchase one, two or three zone tickets and being able to use a wide range of operators, meant it was a no-brainer for me and many others.

I wonder if that push is something Nexus could step up, for those living and studying in T&W.

Priced attractively and marketed correctly, I certainly think it would help students overcome the id concerns.

The three of them were under the front canopy. NK69 FBL was obstructed by 6305, and could just see the front of it. All 3 were branded.

Think the plan was going to be something like a four-way swap with EYMS (for the Red Kite B9s?). Unsure how that plan is materialising with the uncertainty/delay of the Streetdeck now.

Has there been confirmation of that?

I could be barking up the wrong tree as it was a comment I'd been made aware of! Could well be just the one for the full X30 PVR, time will tell as always.

I think it is the Toon Link B9s that are going on the 93/94. Mr G mentioned it in one of the Facebook groups a few weeks ago.

The last I heard was that admin for Wright have said there were 5 bidders and there were told to make bids this weekend and the admin will go through the bids beginning of next week, if one of the bidders is from the UK I hope it’s not the Newcastle owner as he likes to put his fingers in other companies pies

A comment on Dan's twitter indicated the Streetdecks would of started to arrive from October/November time.

Hopefully someone takes them over so they can build and deliver them... due to the number of buses needing Euro 6 engines for the LEZ zone in newcastle, will the council delay the deadline due to the collapse of Wrightbus?, would be interesting to see if they would.
