Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - March 2020

RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - March 2020
(06 Mar 2020, 6:40 pm)Dans_bus_photos wrote Does anyone know if 39724 is likely to being repaired? I noticed it dumped at the back of Slatyford today missing several panels and windows. I know its been off the road for a while, but has also now been SORN, so assuming its not likely to see service again

A photo was put on Flickr a few weeks ago of 39707 at South Shields in a worse condition - raised up missing an entire axle and front destination screen. Apparently 39715 at Sunderland is also knackered. I assume it is unlikely that these will return to service?

Apparently the orders for 2020 / 2021 are due in the next month or so, so it will be interesting if there is anything on order for the North East? Well there has got to be if all remaining ALX300s need to be withdrawn by the end of the year as well as a significant portion of the MAN E200s.

What's wrong with 39657 at Hartlepool? It's been off the road for a while now...

Yeah I seen that photo but given that its still taxed im assuming it must be in the process of being repaired? Slatyford's fleet of MAN E200s have always seemed to be in a worse condition than the rest of the North East's in my opinion. I think it must be almost guaranteed that the NE will be getting new vehicles this year to improve Newcastle's fleet whether its directly, or with older vehicles at other depots being replaced and gaining Euro 6 mods for Newcastle instead.
RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - March 2020
Sunderland could always exchange the 2011 ADL E300s for the 2006/2007 ALX300s as a short term solution...

RBZ 5459 wroteAny orange bumper, in fact orange on the front in general, is now obsolete after updated paint specifications were released today.

Saw 19683 being returned to Walkergate in the new livery today and, yes, there is no orange anywhere on the front. Below the windscreen there are two white panels and then the blue bumper. It also has the 'panda eyes' front headlights.

It appears the Tees Flex Sprinter allocation is as follows:

44005/15/17, 44031/3-7: Stockton
44006, 44032/3: Hartlepool

Probables have new buses for Newcastle again, meaning the Enviro's can move back to Sunderland, after new buses arrive... and upgraded to Euro 6, means they can be used as back up for the X24, if there aren't enough gas buses for the X24.

(07 Mar 2020, 12:27 am)Robin57 wrote RBZ 5459. Do you know which Man E200 is coming to Shields depot soon. Robin

Could be any of them, won't know until the 5th April, when changes take place.
Ooo Friend, Bus Friend.

If im honest i cant see the E200s moving back to Sunderland, the likes of the 32/35etc don't warrant new buses so will probably end up receiving Euro 6 mods, with new vehicles replacing the ALX300s
RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - March 2020
Does anyone know when 22026 and 22018 will be getting withdrawn again? Also, I've noticed a new service appear on bustimes.org that is the 19 to Hemilington and shows that it starts on the 23rd of March. Could anyone confirm this?

They’re old buses. Past their best, parts presumably aren’t as readily available so they spend more time off service.

I had a trip on one of the ex-Yorkshire ones in Newcastle on the 100 recently. Sounded like an absolute dog, ride quality was poor, had more rattles than Mothercare, and it felt like I was at a rave because the interior lights were going mental, flashing off and back on again.

Don’t get me wrong, I like the ALX300s from an enthusiasts’ perspective and the Sunderland bus scene has been boring since the introduction of the gas buses that replaced them, but passengers deserve more. They deserve better.

Should be plenty of spares available from all the withdrawn ones.

When will stagecoach on teesside start get repaint in to new livery
RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - March 2020
But thats not just Stagecoaches buses, thats everywhere in general,i still think they are decent work horses, but i personally think the way they have been treated is down to the depots they live at,and possibly down to the undesirables that get on and mistreat them, and lets not forget where the 06 reg ones started life, the X47, so no wonder some of them llook and sound like dogs, cus of daily thrashings,as for the 03 plates,im sure it was the 60s they started life on,which back then (early 2003) there was more than just the 62' and 63's

It's that time of the year again; 10636/7 from Walkergate, along with 10641 and 10652 from Slatyford are on their way to Cheltenham for the races.
27723 is on loan from Stockton to Walkergate.

Repainted 19683 returned to service at lunchtime.

RBZ 5459. Since Sunderland got 3 39’s back from Newcastle, Shields depot should have there own 3 39’s back from Sunderland, could it ever happen. Robin

Anyone know who operated the SL06 High Pittington - St Leonards School before Stagecoach got it in January?

Believe it to be Durham City or Lee's, must admit I was surprised to see it, presumed one of the companies had bought it and never got round to taking the vinyls off!

According to Bus Times MAN ALX300 22067 is at Walkergate Depot, and ADL E200 37315 is at Sunderland Depot.

If it's being repainted will this not be its second repaint already.   It lost its dots branding just a couple of years ago

Unless it has accident damage and is just having some panels repainted?

Also 36093 has been exchanged with 39726. Still nothing has transferred to Sunderland in exchange for 36092

Does panel painting not just take place at the individual depot.. Does Shields still have its paint shed?  It did when it was Busways.
RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - March 2020
I thought all North East repaints are done at Sunderland depot
