RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes
(31 Aug 2020, 10:15 am)Jimmi wrote I find the new look website totally inept tbh, only showing certain journeys on NE timetables and journey planner, horrible to navigate especially the timetable page.
The journey planner has never been able to manage through journeys on services.
I too use BusTimes usually however Arriva North East's times still seem to be registering with previous temporary timetables with the Traveline data at present so it's a case of looking at temp timetable PDF I have saved and Arriva app and hope it's still correct
At least they have the ability to search for a timetable by route number, something which the GNE website lacks!
Having said that, the website looks like utter shite. What is it with having everything bright white. I really like the bright colours that GNE use on theirs, whereas Arriva just have the odd bit of purple and light blue.
The map for the 6 is also super helpful, I can clearly see which way the bus goes...
Having had a quick look around the app, it seems alright, but they got rid of one of my favourite features, it no longer says '+3' next to the time it's supposed to arrive when it's running 3 minutes late, they've changed to the 'how many minutes until it arrives' model, while I think it's better from a passenger perspective, it covers up the fact it's running late. At least once you tap on the service it still shows the timetabled time crossed out unlike GNE's where it just changes to the estimated time.
They still haven't added fleet numbers though so I can't tell in advance what piece of crap is about to turn up, that's one feature I love about GNE's. If there's an Omnidekka running on the X21, I know I've got an extra half an hour!
