The X-lines Solos are being repainted as one of the Deptford drivers I’m friends with on Facebook took 673 to Saltmeadows for repaint on Monday morning (17th May).

Are they being repainted into corporate or a new livery for another route?

679 has come back from repaint - Red back with grey or black (can't tell by the pic)

Local Sunderland brand - as its Red at the back?

Hopefully the black cats streetlites will get this repaint too, this will really stand out on them much better than the basic red they have now

Ye agree, the livery would look much on that base livery.

Wow that livery looks nice. See the thing is it for Sunderland or something else. Remember when the X Lines solos were done. They were took of the NT and sent over to Sunderland. For all we know they could be a Riverside route or something else but who knows

If its going to Deptford - I think it'll be named something like "Sunderland Links"

Unless they've abandoned the colour association to areas then it's going to Sunderland or South Tyneside as that's red.

It looks nice but it's a bit similar to the Nexus Bus livery which GCT is using for a customer who uses colours to recognise a bus imo. It's not exactly a brand I'd want my customers to be getting mixed up with especially since GCT run services all over now.

Yea tbh the Crusader is red plus so maybe they have decided to Sunderland and South Tyneside the same

Service 56 and 26/7 have the red rear

It was announced ages ago that the red rear will be south Tyneside and Sunderland areas so will be services that are operated by Washington and Deptford depot, I’ve forgotten what riverside depot was (green?), I only remembered the red, maybe Dan could clear the rest of the colours for each area.

So the yellow Solos branded for Tynedale Links would gain an orange back if repainted? What about CLS? 21, 25, 28 etc.

Not a clue tbh with you. The Coast and Country, Prince Bishops and Tyne Valley Ten are the same. The 21 should be fine though as its main corridor is Birtley and Low Fell which is Gateshead and the 25 and 28 will be staying corporate I imagine. The Connections 4 buses are pink at front and blue at the back instead so who knows.

Yeah, not very consistent at GNE! I forgot about the Connections 4 having blue at the back. I am disappointed the 25 is corporate, as it components the 21 route to some extent. Definitely expect it will stay corporate, along with the 28s which should (although could be put back into Beamish identity!)

Thanks for that. Interesting. As TVT is partly operated by Hexham, and runs on Sundays, could Hexham run the X84/X85 on Sundays? Maybe a different service on Sundays, Hexham - Metrocentre - Throckley - Denton Burn - Newcastle.

What's more interesting with this repaint is that 679 was previously Indigo branded and had prior to repaint been allocated to Washington Depot, i'd imagine 680 will also be moving to Deptford from Washington so that 672-680 are all together.

Makes you wonder if some major services changes are planned for Sunderland in the coming months with services 33/33A/38/38A/38C & 938 all being branded again under something like "Little Black Cats" moving forward.
