Service 20 towards Langley Park is showing a few via points ( Houghton, The Raintons , Durham, Arnison Centre) yet on returning from Langley it just shows Sunderland via the Raintons & Houghton, no mention of Durham etc

I was talking to an elderly ex neighbour who told me she was at the Arnison Centre last week with a friend, They were dropped off by car and decided to return home (via Durham) by bus .
They let the service 20 go by as the destination only read
via the Raintons and Houghton before asking the driver of the next 20 if he called at Durham to which he explained that he did.
Destination Displays should be updated for both directions

Dunno if its 'new' (well Riverside) driver thing but a lot of Angels now seem to have just Chester Le Street in massive font on the front as opposed to the old via Low Fell, Angel, Birtley destination.

Wistfully stuck in the 90s

Didn't they roll that out a few years ago, then roll it back due to complaints?

Sounds like drivers wrongly selecting the ‘from Durham’ option, which is a short-terminating display and therefore with no via points. Next stop announcements won’t work either when this is selected.

There are many GNE Destination Displays that need fixing, especially the Drifters.

That happens surprisingly often with a lot of buses.

Personally I don't like the massive Displays, it look awful when the 47 says Blackhall Mill in massive text.

The actual screens need replacing on the drifters - quite a few of them are very dark on one half for some reason.

Was sat behind a StreetDeck last night on the 58 where the rear display alternated between "Follingbsy" and "Follingsby".

Never really been a fan of the font they use for the route numbers, just a minor issue personally for me

I hate the 39a Doxford park not even shown now. Just houghton via city centre and Ryhope. 39b going to Washington whose going to go all the way on that when the 2 and 2A is available. Doesn’t display Doxford park yet displays biddick woods.

Noticed the other night, that GNE are using their NIS blinds to advertise for drivers, in addition to the other forms of advertising being used.

6184 is currently using an old destination program that hasn't been updated, as service 56 is showing via Nightingale Hospital. , Which no longer exists on the destination program

Was on an X900 tonight which had "X900 Gateshead" displayed, and no NSAs working.

Not sure if anyone is advising all of these drivers (some of whom appear to have come from Metroline London) on how to use these systems!

And the less said about the driving style, the better...

There has been multiple complaints on this server about the 900 drivers, Ive seen a few make some dangerous moves leaving Heworth.

How much is a single on the 900/X900

My X900 driver tonight from South Shields to Heworth was speeding, tailgating, cutting over lanes and roundabouts, and still managed to leave Jarrow a minute early despite taking a strange longer route along Priory Road and Chaytor Street after the Tyne Tunnel roundabouts.

And the same style from Jarrow to Heworth, managing to arrive 6 minutes early. Absolutely pointless to be driving like that.

Interesting.

Could they teach the GNE drivers how to operate the exit doors?

can't find a more suitable thread, but 5480's rear destination has been covered by a contravision advert.

I noticed one the other day, not sure if its the same one, only saw the back, but there could be multiple. 8339 has one but you can see the display.
