(24 Sep 2023, 9:09 am)BusEnthusiast.com wrote The transfers of 27817-23 have now been published on Bustimes but it still says Wigan as the depot so does anyone know what depot they’re going to and also are they going to change the font of the fleet numbers to the regular font that SCNE uses.

Some of the ex-Carlisle ones retained smaller fleet numbers so they'll probably be left as they are unless they get repainted

I think stagecoach Stockton and heatlepool depot really need new buses and South shield depot too. I know Stockton get 69 reg but the rest buses 08 ,09,59 regs. Think next Stockton get new next year.

There are none at slatyford from what I could see. Would have loved a few at Slatyford for vehicle cover but seems to all be going to Walkergate not that they need the extra buses…

I think if anywhere is desperate for investment it’s Hartlepool.  At the moment they is still one 04 plate dart in service (although I really hope someone manages to preserve it as 34605 is refusing to die the last north east dart left in service and not sure what happened 34611 but it no longer in service) 3 08 plates still in service ( it says 4 on bus times but 39660 is actually one of the 397s ) plus quite a few of the Enviro 200s are not sounding to good.Added to that quite a few service 7s can get quite full not helped by how small the 397s are so Hartlepoo Definitely needs investment.

Now that 22409 is now seeming to be permanent at Hartlepool I hope that means that full size buses can actually fit over the pits and some more full sizes can be brought back permanently.

I suppose Stockton does need investment as well so one suggestion would be whatever man 18.220 remains any that are still decent can go to Hartlepool.  You could then do a split order with more enviro 200 MMC to share between both depots and Stockton getting say 10 - 15 Enviros 400 MMC for 36/37/38 that should get rid of a few of the older fleet whatever surplus at Stockton could then be used to get if the worse of the enviro 200s at Hartlepool. This should in theory get rid of the 05 Enviro 300 the remaining 396s and 397s Manviros and some of the darts.  Of course it’s probably unlikely to happen.

If Stockton depot are not getting new buses yet or hartlepool depot not getting new buses then ex buses like ex 300 from Manchester and Stockland E300 as well I think single and double dockers like E400 I think?
RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News
28040 as a training bus. Good luck with that!

I mean it was so slow it'd be ideal for learners on a provisional but it's hardly a good first impression of them.
RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News
I passed through Newcastle last Saturday (23rd) on my way to Edinburgh. I then spent Monday & Tuesday nights in South Shields for a wider day out on Tuesday (26th).

Anyway, my rides last Saturday were on

10652 (62)
11607 (1)
12082 (12)
19437 (22)
26078 (30)
27242 (685)
36476 (32)
50411 (M20)

While it did make sense for Stagecoach to run route 685 from depots at both ends of the route, it did occur to me how unlikely it was before privatisation that Newcastle / Tyne & Wear PTE depot Slatyford was to run buses out to Carlisle.

You know I think Wakergate would have done a better job at running the 685 than Slatyford since some vhicles there are unreliable at slatyford

£2 fare cap was due to end 31st October and replaced by a £2.50 fare cap for a year until November 2024 but that has now been changed. The £2 fare will now be in place until December 2024. Excellent news for drivers and passengers, definitely noticed more people using the buses with the cheaper fares.
RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News
Didn't catch the vehicle number, but a Stagecoach bus with what appeared to be minor front end damage parked up at Skinningrove Lane End around lunchtime today.

They've been tracking today

The E300 at Walkergate *278 batch are due to Sunderland when the E400MMC batch arrives
