That looks good, maybe they are not for the driving school but for service work and they could be at least 1 for each depot as an advertisement for recruitment, I'm sure they had success doing this at GNW so are doing it here

Could possibly be. as they have had a refurbished interior . which would seem pointless if there going to be used for training vehicles

It says Hero in Training on the side.
Surely that wouldn’t be the case if it’s a service vehicle with a fully qualified driver at the wheel?
RE: Go North East - Second-hand vehicle acquisitions
Stagecoach retrimmed their DTVs, too.

For a bus which is effectively a classroom for 6/7 hours a day, it makes sense to tidy it up inside and make it clean and comfortable. New starters don't just sit in the drivers seat.

It doesn't look finished yet either, with extra mirrors missing etc. Perhaps retrimming the entire bus worked out cheaper when buying it, and the seats can be used as spares when they're removed?

Stagecoach don't use every given opportunity to say they're massively loss making, and offered their staff a decent pay rise without the need for industrial action I believe? It's far from essential either way.

Realistically nobody is going to leave the training school because a seat they have to sit in for a few hours per day hasn't been retrimmed (as long as the seat is clean).

The money wasn't there to refurb the ex-EYMS or ex-London B9TLs (at least the ones I've been on), which are in daily service on busy routes.

The most recent pay rise was a simple take it or leave it and was non-negotiable; think it only happened when it did because of the GNE strike (Sunderland weren't due to negotiate until June IIRC).

Is there any more ex GAL Optares and E400s due?

Everything from London has now been delivered.

The only remaining DOEs are the three which were loaned to East Yorkshire.

Anything due to go, apart from the Decker Hybrids. Will the Omnidekka's start to go now?

Everything here from GNW too?

Once the DOEs and E400s are in service, some OmniDekkas will be withdrawn, yes.

Dan, I don’t ask for much but if this beautiful looking machine makes it onto the 21 I will forgive the horrendous scheduling, total lack of management, 25. Minute Angel waits and all round meh-ness in exchange for this quite frankly goddess of a vehicle

Mind boggling that GNE Would use 11 streetlites which theyve refurbed with USBs just on Driver Training and not older buses, who is making these decisions...a brain dead zombie?

Meanwhile the 2/2A whcih is a PVR of 11 is in desperate need for upgrades

Agree. No answer from GNE anytime this question has been raised. CAZ ruling on Non-PCV is as clear as mud though

Since when were Go North East answerable to enthusiasts on this forum?!

Who is to say that the seats and USB chargers currently in those Streetlites will remain in them? Who is to say there isn’t a plan?

What was the point of wasting money getting them done then!

As for Plans GNE have been less than stella in the plans for their network, the amount of flip flops due to incompentant managment...can you blame people for their lack of faith
