I heard everything is getting merged into one large service like this:

Cramlington - Blyth - Whitley Bay - Cullercoats - Tynemouth - North Shields - Billy Mill International - Rake Lane Hospital - Cobalt - Silverlink- Percy Main - Howdon - Hadrian Park - Wallsend - Byker - Newcastle- Gateshead - Lobley Hill - Whickham - Metrocentre - Denton Burn - Throckley - Heddon - Wylam - Ovingham - Ovington - Corbridge - Hexham - Newbrough.

Every 20 mins.

X39 will have some extra journeys added.

X39 asides, it's not the first of April yet!

You should tell yourself that the next time you come up with a Coast Road suggestion or variation.

Besides, this service goes to Billy Mill International. The metropolis of Tyne and Wear.

RE: 24th March 2024 Changes
Don't see any major changes looking at them, think most likely timetable changes.

Let's hope Hadrian Park haven't kicked off since the 2330 310 got changed to a 2345 309 otherwise it will be back to long walks if last bus is changed back to a 307!
RE: 24th March 2024 Changes
Another thought......if more time is needed on the 309 due to NT Council's s*** traffic management plus a 20 minute frequency via High Farm being enough with deckers on the 307, would a re-route of daytime 309 services via Selby Gardens not be on the cards? Some early morning and all evening services could still run via High Farm to give a regular 30 minute service like now.

Probably wanted to make it every 10 minute along Mullen Road (for whatever reason) since Mullen Road now has the 41/41A/335/307/309 all going along it to Battle Hill

I think a 20 minute service using deckers should be sufficient with the 307 alone. But the traffic situation is only going to get worse around Whitley Bay and Preston Grange.

Long as they withdrawn the 41A and reroute the 41 to go via Wiltshire Drive. The absolute hell that is going on is shocking the fact they can't even keep to timetable and the fact 99% of the time the 41 is being followed by a 41A or you have two 41A following each other.
RE: 24th March 2024 Changes
Well working out the 308 & 309, the 309 dropping High Farm would save 2 minutes in each direction. So would create an 8/12 split between the 308 & 309 between NT Hospital & Blyth although still some even headway. Then for the time saved not serving High Farm, could then re-time the 308 & 309

308 / 309
Blyth: 09:51 / 10:03
Whitley Bay Cemetery: 10:07 / 10:19
Whiltley Bay Centre: 10:19 / 10:31 (+2 mins)
NT Hospital: 10:27 / 10:39 (+1 min)
New York Greenlea (309): 10:44 (+2 mins)
Billy Mill (308): 10:36 (+2 mins)
Newcastle: 11:03 / 11:18

308 would have 5 minutes layover in Blyth and 309 would have 7 minutes.

Starting to get sick of these repetitive boring posts about the Coast Road services

Go north east and Arriva have entered into an enhanced partnership agreement. So are services likely to change significantly? No

Well not significantly, but both GNE & Arriva are going to need to find the time from somewhere with the ever increasing congestion levels around Whitley Bay, Foxhunters and Preston Grange.

Why should they? The continual slowing of bus services due to poorly planned developments increasing congestion should not be the responsibly of the bus operator to resolve, nor should it be the passenger penalised.

The local authorities need to provide major and significantly beneficial bus priority.

However, as we all know, promoting the bus over the car and throwing money that goes against the private motorist isn't a vote winner, so nobody will do it and we end up with slow public transport and frequency reductions to permit reinvestment of running time.

You're so right, the ironic part of it all, is the congestion is being caused by cycle lanes being stuck in everywhere, in completely inappropiate places. I'm all for cycle lanes but not at the cost of public transport and it's not the first time either.

308 far cry from the days when the driver could rock up to the awaiting Leyland / Volvo Olympian, Scania N113, Lowlander......then give it the beans with no traffic calming measures!

Rake Lane is a complete and utter mess! Agree with the comments about why should operators budge.

I'm sure GNE, Arriva and TNE will work something out. But think the only way to add time will be for GNE to drop High Farm on the 309 during the day and run back via Selby Gardens.

Any sunny Sundays usually spell chaos on the 308 & 309. At least passengers on the 307 no longer have to suffer unlike when the 310 used to regularly have to go light to Verne Road / North Shields after severe late running on the 309 on Bank Holidays or busy Sundays.

I think it just looks like that because the registration is combined. The 307 is still mentioned on the registration.

Will likely be a mistake or how the DVSA have entered the timetable.

They normally come out two weeks after an application has been submitted. Normally traveline have them first.

If gct get the 351/335/359 in March. Then I'd expect the 19/342 to be taken off them. How they will mange that with them still having the 19/342 will shock me

According to VOSA, GNE still have those services but have timetable variations.

Unless it's come in the last 24 hours, there's nothing on them either way. Think you've got confused with the 352-355.
