Curious but which service is quickest from Newcastle into Gateshead

Had a meeting in Gateshead and my hatred of Metro left me sitting stuck on the X1 for 15 minutes

But then I'd have to walk up Jackson Street and Gateshead High Street and I'd feel safer in Chernobyl about 2 minutes before the explosion

Front of some of the new WearTees Xpress buses says weekly tickets from £11.40? Which weekly tickets are those are like? One zone buzzfare is £18 which covers you as far as Middlesbrough-Peterlee or Seaham-Sunderland and you'd need a £24 two zone for full route. X7 doesn't have a route saver. Even a Peterlee town saver is £10.30 but no point promoting that for the short journeys that could be Essington Way-Moorcock.

Sunderland - Grangetown on the Sunderland Weekly Saver.

Hardly worth mentioning, the likelihood of some one wanting to go to that particular stop in Grangetown is very limited. More point in saying £10.30 Peterlee saver IMO.

Grangetown stop is hardly used anyways.

I don't agree with the use of it, just saying what I think it is.

The rear of 5335 advertises a weekly ticket for £18 and the rear of 5336 advertises a day ticket for £4.65.

Especially when passengers could get a 42 and use the £8.30 weekly ticket...

What's the point of advertising those if they don't say what they are?!

It is very similar to an airline selling a cheap ticket - but not telling you the limitations to that ticket or the fact it goes every second Tuesday from Bristol at 25past 4 in the morning.

The advertisement stirs interest and the passenger decides to use the service, thinking the price is correct for the journey they specifically want to make.

Yes, exactly this. A sneaky but clever marketing tool to entice new customers into using the product - it's something done in other businesses outside of the transport industry too.

If the price isn't what the customer expected as per said marketing, there is a chance that the customers will still try it out and if they like it, go back for more.

It's either that, or they don't get the bus out of principle.
When I worked in a well known retail establishment many moons ago, customers would complain the price wasn't what was advertised on the window outside. When we pointed out the price was 'from', they reluctantly paid or stormed off, never to be seen again.

Wrightbuses depending upon the engine and chassis can be very good. However, I've noticed that all WB bodies suffer from electrical problems:

- Arriva SB200 Commander had no power back in 2006 when I was younger.
- Arriva DB300 7608 has a buzzer problem upstairs when the bell rings and it will buzz until the door opens.
- GNE B9TL 6111 stop sign not working upstairs.
- Few GNE CC B9TL's with next stop announcements not working.
- Teething problems with the B9TL launch on the TEN.

Some more info about the changes to services from April - (doing my best to look for changes)

Going by the new timetable on for the M2|M2A|M3 - it looks like their changing from Stand D to E at Heworth from 13th April it's only change i can see in the timetable... expect for the Metrolink name changing to Connections 4 and going Northern..

The 17/17A changes on the 23.3.14, it has a few changes in contract wise - changed to Northern - theirs a change on the timetable from Cramlington Manor Walks to Whitley Bay Seafront/The Avenue this is new info about the Letter C Runs –

C - Passengers will need to change buses at Wallsend Metro, also, between Wallsend Metro and Churchill Street Post Office this journey is provided by NexusBus. Please refer to code B above, regarding the Go North East tickets that are available for travel.

Also for the 17/17A - Journeys between Churchill Street Post Office and Benton ASDA/Cramlington Manor Walks is gonna be NEXUS bus -

B – This journey is provided by NexusBus – Pre-purchased Go North
East Buzzfare, Get Around and Cheap Day Return tickets are valid for travel.

C – Passengers will need to change buses at Wallsend Metro, also,
between Wallsend Metro and Benton ASDA this journey is provided by
NexusBus. Please refer to code B above, regarding the Go North East tickets that are available for travel.

56 - From 23rd March - New run from Sunderland to Newcastle at 0625am - this is instead of starting it from Concord like now... due to this a few changes to early morning runs - 0550 run will run 4 mins earlier - This looks like the only change to the route

Stanley may of possibly received another Omnicity. as I saw a plain red one on the X31 with a full rear dest (number, destination and the route) whereas the ones they currently have only display the number on the rear. Stanley may of just played around with the dests but I doubt it.
