i was on that bus today returning from Chester-le-Street i had the use of both 3962/3965 i now love 3965 quality ride out

Morning 844 - Evening 885
Morning 265 - Evening 887

They get changed so much I keep on losing track and having to ask them what they do on a morning Blush. The extra 8s on an evening is just incorporated into Unit 2 and I believe the duty number is 213 and they start on the 28's out the depot then onto a 50 in the middle of the day before going to the depot and driving a decker out to do the short 8s.

The morning 886 should run off onto the afternoon 461 prior to performing three short 8s, and returning to the depot after that. The bus itself does no other commercial work in between the morning/afternoon scholars, so will go back to the depot until required.

Serval services in the list are DCC rather than Nexus are the DCC ones also up for tender this year?

I think I'm not quite on the same page as you Tongue. The drivers are the same on all of the runs I've stated but I do think the vehicle is attached to the board number it does in the daytime for the whole day. The case otherwise would be that the Pronto Presidents come to Chester for maintenance and end up being press ganged onto scholars, so say 6021 might appear on the 884 in the morning but the 871 and 888 may end up with 3878 because it's gone back to Crook, am I right? Undecided

They were at Lindisfarne Interchange yesterday afternoon. Being fairly sensible and just handing the forms to drivers when the traffic lights were on stop for the roundabout, so not slowing things down there.

Vehicles are usually attached to the running board number - I'm not sure whether drivers are confined to these interworking patterns (i.e. have a long break in the middle of the dedicated scholar boards) or not (later go onto commercial work after doing a scholar).

The interworking patterns I gave earlier are on separate boards, so in theory the vehicle allocated to service 884 (am) should be allocated to services 871 (pm) and 888 (pm) - it should not then appear on service 887 (pm) instead, but I am aware that 'split shifts' exist, though. This means that if the bus returns to the depot for a long break in the middle, it can easily be replaced by another vehicle to perform the afternoon duty. It's unusual for this to happen with the boards which perform commercial work in between.
However, in the case of a branded vehicle appearing on the route (such as a "Pronto"), it is not unusual for the vehicle to be replaced by another to allow that vehicle to go back to Crook. Much like branded vehicles appearing on a service for which they are not branded for, engineers/allocators should look to replace the vehicle as soon as possible to allow it to go back to where it should be.

Glad that's only your opinion. I hate it. It just doesn't look right and I would of preferred it if it just stayed blue with a Go North East logo on the front.

Unbiased statement hands down. If they all get branded like that on the front I might as well just leave Chester all together.

It'll depend on how the rotas are set up at the individual depot, but speaking from my experience the duties that do a morning scholars run may then go onto other work when they get back to the depot.
For example when I was at Stagecoach we had a duty where you would take a decker out about 0645 and do a 35 from Wolviston Court to Stockton, run light to Acklam and do school run 303 to Macmillan Academy. You'd then take the decker back to depot (0820ish) and staff transport would take you down to Stockton high street where you would take over a 52 at 0850 and spend around 2.5 hours on that and come off around 1130.
They've split them off now onto a part time rota though.

Chester may have a similar sort of thing. It's likely that once the vehicles are back in off the morning runs (those that don't pick up X25s or whatever anyway) they'll become spares for the rest of the day so if anything breaks down (or requires changing over for whatever reason) then the deckers can be thrown out at a moments notice, no need to defect check them as they've already been out etc, saving valuable time. As with every depot who operate schools though, there will always be the usual scramble about 2pm to go and get all the deckers back in to send out on the schools... This will be when you end up with allocations being all over using whatever engineering can spare/have fixed to get the deckers off.

When Stagecoach South Shields operated school services it was much more simple, once finished on the school service it operated the Asda Free Bus for Boldon Asda

Stagecoach Stockton do so likewise - but only 1 working and only Wednesday-Friday (and Wednesday's the bus then does a afternoon school as well).

Park lane should be used by all services. After all it's an interchange. They claim it's 2nd busiest outside London Victoria REALLY!! I doubt that. Go north east dominate stagecoach should be able to use it

They are able to use it and the "E" services do. However, it costs operators to use Park Lane Interchange, as well as some other Interchanges such as Gateshead, Eldon Square and Haymarket.
