Arriva North East: Rare & Odd Workings - May 2014

I think some DAFs were withdrawn and they got Pulsars 1492 back from Darlington and brand new 1512.

Correct we were told to use Pulsars on X1 - the DAFs are still around, we've lost one or two in the year or so I've been working at Stockton. Still using 14 of them.

Chester Le Street's GNE drivers apparently threw a party when the DAFs on the 34 and 28 were withdrawn. I loved them personally, but drivers constantly complained about how they were to drive. One of The Waggonway's (4983) is seen here in Alpha;

When I showed it to a driver there a huge grin crossed his face.

I won't. Hated them, especially 4050 which I regularly had to endure from Newton Aycliffe to Framwellgate Moor and back, with the horrid rattling and one day it was making a buzzing noise that made it sound like someone was badly playing Operation.

I seem to recall someone telling me that they were Deltas, then when they were withdrawn they were given to Prestiges. Or they could be ALX300s;

Pulsar 1447 ended up on service 28 this afternoon after a Prestige 4062 needed replacing (what a shame!)

As seen here, doing the 1710 to Lingdale. Of course a number of peak time workings are operated by Pulsars off the 9/27a (and 1 of the 3 buses working 28Bs on a night) but on the normal day workings, uncommon

Seems to have been a quiet day out there for ArrivaNE? Mind you I've only been on the one bus? A packed 7488 on the 1025 trip across to Scarborough. Hope in all the blurb that is being churned out about the X93 we are gonna get the allocations right? The early trips MUST be worked by decker!
RE: Arriva North East - Rare and Odd Workings
And talking of Pulsars working the daytime 28's? Thought I got a glance of one darting that way the day 4063 expired in Guisborough Market Place?

Replacement for 1451 at 1035 this morning, 1451 later left 15 minutes late as replacement for that on the 29/29a.

7434 is also on the X1/X2.

Probably worth mentioning that 9991 managed at least a couple of trips on the staff shuttle this morning at Stockton! Lucky Sarah beat me to having a go of a coach!

The Pulsar on Service 75/6 was 1428.
RE: Arriva North East - Rare and Odd Workings
4718 has been a replacement for a B7 on service X93 today? Seemingly the B7 was required for the high loadings on the 81/81a.
