News/Info regarding Jim Hughes to be posted here


Jim Hughes have recently re-branded Volvo B10M OTP940 and WSU486. They carry the standard gold variation of the livery with 'jh' vinyls applied.

In addition to this, Mercedes Touro BX06UMJ retains the red livery she previously carried with similar vinyls applied.

Finally, Volvo B10M YSV815 had a run out to Lightwater Valley today on a school trip. She too has been put into the livery of OTP940/WSU486 - gold again too.

Jim hughes is owned by ian shipley (md Classic coaches) but registered to his son john shipley.

Who normally works the Nat Express 425?
Just passed it on A1 and it is being worked by a gold Jim Hughes coach - with a card display on the dash

Normally Yourbus operated ... Guess they're either working a dupe or a replacement.

D78JHY is in JH's yard. Does anyone know if this vehicle has been sold to JH by Classic?

BX06UMC has been painted in gold and received it's new livery.

That looks splendid! I must say that I'm a huge fan of Jim Hughes' livery.

I agree its a massive improvement on the old livery, very modern and sleek!

Independent group of Sunderland fans from a quick google, so it'll be off to Birmingham for their game at Villa.

The Temsa has now been replaced with an all gold Mercedes Cheetah AA05SET

Will the two SPDs be painted into a similar livery as carried by the coaches? I note a photograph is online showing RYM has only recently been given a fresh coat of white paint.

The SPD's will have a gold band around them. Not in full gold as yet.

Not quite SPDs. Just a plain old Dennis Dart SLF / Plaxton Pointer 2. Which is probably just as well as SPDs tend to droop at the rear end.

Anyway, good luck with the expansion, and I certainly will be happy to be photographing more of the ever smart Jim Hughes fleet.
