Arriva North East: Rare & Odd Workings - October 2014

The plain blue fronts look awful - should have left the grilles.

Two Pulsars (1460 & 1491 iirc) were due to be allocated today when I left at 0550 (on top of 1512 the spare) but that was dependent on Streetlites being fixed!

1460 started the day on the 5/5A whilst 1494 replaced 1552 very early in the day, though they were later swapped back over mid-morning. 1492 managed a trip this afternoon too, replacing 1559 which ran in very late thanks to a fallen tree at Skelton Ellers blocking the road for half hour or so.

A very odd one - 1512 spent the whole day on 27s, but allocated to the board that works a round trip on the 1640 17a (as seen below in Stockton High Street on the 1731 return to Middlesbrough) and the 1820 29a to Stokesley. It's certainly got about this afternoon.

Just passed a MAX Omnicity at a layby before haymarket, screened on the rear for 35A but on the front as "X20 Ashington" either way it's odd...

That'll be 4659 then... has a habit of not updating the side/rear screens. Remember following it through Thornaby with the rear displaying X6...

Erm, mega ultra rare, there is an EcoCity on the 4 to Darlo/Minors Crescent. Just left as the 07:44 to Darlington Town Centre

NK64EET is on X15s today - guess it's not so much of an odd working at present given that they're without branding, but hey ho.

7520 is meanwhile on an absolutely rammed X18.

A Y-reg example is on 14/X14.

Is it just me who think both Ashington and Jesmond are following Blyth with pathetic allocations?

Speaking for Ashington, as I see more of it's allocation than Jesmonds, I don't think they're that bad. They allocate all Sapphire E400's correctly when they can, all buses bar one that I saw yesterday on the X15/18 were Max (the exception being 7454). For Jesmond, all 306's I've seen today have been Streetlites

Guess this is the 1235 out of Middlesbrough?

An unidentified ALX400 is on the 1205.

7438 was the Lowlander. Just passing the County Hall now - so this was the 1205 and the 1135 one must have been running about 20 mins late?
