Dang. Reg typo. Anyway, from the pic I saw that made me aware of this arrival, the bus looked too long hence why I assumed it was a B7RLE.

Well it would have been nice for the driver of the X56 to stop to let people on.....!

There was myself and an old couple waiting to get on and the driver just pulled out of Concord straight away...

Had a ride of the Centro instead. Seemed underpowered and was quite rattley.

The timetable for the X56 is quite slack though, and the journey only lasted 10 mins.

It's a MAN, a Plaxton body and spent some of its life with JPT - when you consider Stagecoach in Manchester are only keeping 4 Primos, the 2 E300s and a single Volvo B7TL shows you JPT's maintenance record with vehicles.

Could have something to do with this? http://northeastbuses.co.uk/forum/showth...hp?tid=311&pid=66887#pid66887

If not i shall see if i can find out the change and post it here.

Update: The VOSA change registration for services 706/707/708 is for the full withdrawl of all three services rather than the cancellation for the circulars and re registered as 2 seperate services with the upcoming bridge weight restriction.

Bit of a mishap on the Cathedral bus today. E200 E2 STX and Solo E3 STX had a bit on an accident. E3 went into the back of E2 and both are off the road. E2 needs a new panel at the rear and the solo needs a new windscreen.

And as a result there was a Cheetah on services 706/7/8
DCC wont be pleased but 2 buses are VOR with accident damage so it cant really be helped.

But in entering a tender, an operator should ensure that it has sufficient resources, to meet the requirements of a contract.

I can see them losing the Cathedral Bus services when the contract is up for renewal as they had so many different buses used on the service, although it doesn't help that the electric Solos were totally usless.

They have 3 buses for the cathedral bus. 2 solos plus the E200. One of the 3 is for the mealbreaks. Its not going to be very often that 2 buses are VOR. I must admit the depot isnt that big. I do advise them to extend it or move somewhere else.
That being said, if they didnt have the correct resources, would theyhave gained the contract in the first place?

Not necessarily. They'll have given a commitment to run the contract with buses of a certain specification, but I doubt they'd have had to disclose anything beyond that.
