Arriva North East: Rare & Odd Workings - November 2014

7619 is on 64s

Cheers. I'd wondered which one it was! I'm wondering if this has recently been VOR, and perhaps just on a lighter journey to see how it performs?

I tried to get a photo (twice!) but both occasions it turned out blurry.

You can pretend that this photo of 7619 on the 64 was taken today, (when it was actually taken back in October!)

A Pulsar lost from Darlington how many more ???? lol
God no! I imagine even more crappy old Darts on the 1/5/5A until the MAX Omnicitys enter service.

Why did every over MAX service got their buses before they were branded, but we have to wait and unlike them Darlington is short on buses and old Darts, Prestiges and Solos have to go out on other services they aren't suited for while the MAX Omnicitys are tucked in at the back of Darlington depot.

It was on the pits at Belmont this afternoon - may have been there for test and Belmont have used it in service - not sure

Durham were down to get 1404/5/6 from Darlo but it's possible that they've given them 1424 instead.

Give them a chance they've only been at Faverdale a couple of days. Looks like they are still doing minor work to the two MAX Omnicities that have arrived, better than rushing them out and breaking down, as 4649 and 4655 were both at Redcar before refurbishment.

There are currently two 52/53 branded ALX300s at Regent Centre on 46s (I think), and there was a 46 branded Solo on the 52/53 at Haymarket at 1230.

7530 is also on the X15.

NK09FNA (no rear fleet number) is the X14 branded example on the X18.

A normal E400 arrived in Berwick as an X18 around 13.50 also

That could cause all sorts of confusion in the summer when tourists are wanting to catch a bus down from Berwick.   Rolleyes

Do the "spare" MAX branded buses at Ashington all have route specific branding? Seems a bit silly if they do.

Are there any spares? I thought there was just enough to cover the PVR...

I thought 3 E400's were refurbished for the X15 along with the 2 omnicitys for a PVR of 4. No spares for the X18 though, and I'm not sure about the X14.

Perhaps I am wrong, and this would explain the less conspicuous branding on the OmniCitys (ie without the three red circles in big).

7454 on X15
7455 on X20
7475 on X14 - haven't actually seen any of the X14 branded E400s on the X14 today...
7514 on X18

4518 was one example out on 44s.
RE: Arriva North East - Rare and Odd Workings
I can't understand why they brand buses for respective routes, and then put them on anything they want! I can't get why the hell they would put a X18 E400 on the X15, and a X15 E400 on the X18.
